The secret to winning Flipkart WiRED -With Soumyajit Ghosh, Anusmita Saha and Soham Bahu from IIM Bangalore
Flipkart is now a household name in India. The leading e-commerce platform launched the 2019 edition of Flipkart WiRED for India’s B-school students. The competition is a case study challenge that is now open to 21 premier B-Schools across India.
In three phases, the competition tests the ability of the participants to draw up solutions for existing industrial problems in the domain of Business, Supply Chain, and HR. Teams that qualify for the final round, are then faced by more complex twists to their assigned case study.
Finally, in the grand finale, held at OneFlipkart, Bengaluru, 15 teams present their solutions to the judging panel. The winning team stands a chance to win INR 2,00,000 along with an opportunity to get placed at Flipkart.
The 2019 edition of Flipkart WiRED was won by Soumyajit Ghosh, Anusmita Saha, and Soham Basu from IIM Bangalore. Calling themselves team ‘Coffee House’, they say that WiRED asked the question ‘Whether to be a stand-alone app or an integrated app?’. They began by downloading all the apps they could, doing the ground research required for any case study competition. They also conducted a primary and secondary survey to add to their knowledge. Anusmita says that an important part of winning the competition was drawing up ‘use-cases’ based on customer surveys.
Crediting their teamwork, and the bond they share as a team, ‘Coffee House’ talks about how courage and accountability helped them win Flipkart WiRED 2019!
