The sheen of Gold is still not Lost- Heavy Recruitment awaits MBA Grads in 2018 | GMAC Survey
GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) has recently unleashed Corporate Recruiters Survey Report 2018 and it clearly mentions that there will be an immense amount of hiring for MBA graduates in 2018.
According to the survey, 81 percent of the companies have planned to hire MBA grad students in the Asia-Pacific region as compared to 70 percent in 2017. With the ease of doing business, improved connectivity, opening of new markets and liberalisation in the governmental policies in India, China and other Asian countries there has been a surge in trade which has given impetus to the start-up companies.
It seems that the start-up companies will be one of the important recruiters preceded by the larger corporate houses. The start-up companies actual hiring rate was at 55 percent for MBA grads last year with a projected rate at 77 percent for this year.
The desire to hire international Talent by US companies stands at 47 percent which is down by 8 percent as compared to last year’s hiring rate which might be due to change in US Governmental policies on International Hiring and stringency in Visa rules.
Data Analytics still remains the hot job of the year and over 71 percent of employers plan to place recent business school graduates into data analytics roles in 2018. Companies even plan to hire 52 percent of Post-graduate students of Data Analytics in 2018 which is up by 17 percent, a significant rise.
Salary has been one of the strong driving force to get in talented people on-board and according to the survey the companies have planned to raise the starting base salaries for new business school hires compared to 2017.
2018 Corporate Recruiters Survey Report by GMAC is based on responses received from 1,066 employers in 42 countries worldwide who work directly with participating business schools, including 20 percent in the Fortune 100 Global companies.
