UPSC declares 2017 exam results, Hyderabad bureaucrat Tops the list

The most prestigious public institution in the country, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published the list of successful candidates from 2017 batch on its official website upsc.gov.in.


4,56,625 candidates took the prelims and only 13,366 cleared the mains exam held in October-November 2017. Post mains only 2568 candidates were called for the Personality Test held in Feb-April, 2018.

The interview panel recommended the names of 990 (750 men and 240 women) candidates to be appointed in Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

Years of dedicated toil has made these candidates secure the most coveted job in the country.

Durishetty Anudeep, IRS, 2013 batch has topped the exam while Anu Kumari, a post-graduate in Marketing and Finance and a mother of a 4-year-old has secured the second rank, while Sachin Gupta occupied the third position.

The selection process is a long and strenuous journey with prelims being held on 18th June 2017 and the mains on 28th October 2017 followed by a personal interview with the panel of senior or retired bureaucrats and experts on Feb-April 2018.

The successful candidates will now undergo training of four months also known as the 'Foundation Course’ at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) located in the picturesque hill station of Mussoorie (UK) and then they will tour across the country before being formally appointed into the service.

It is a dream come true for many of the candidates to be able to serve the nation under the tutelage of UPSC.
