This prestigious and competitive examination is conducted every year by UPSC to recruit qualified engineers in civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics & telecommunications posts.

There will be respective upper age limit relaxation for ST, SC, OBC, Defence services personnel and Ex-servicemen as per the official notification of UPSC ESE.

Candidates filling their online application are required to pay a fee of INR 200 either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using Internet Banking of any Bank.

Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of the fee mentioned above.

UPSC ESE Recruitment: Important Dates

Interested engineering students are advised to keep in mind the following important dates regarding the UPSC ESE recruitment 2024:

Date of commencement of UPSC ESE 2024 of Examination	February 18, 2024

UPSC ESE Recruitment: Examination Pattern

The UPSC ESE 2024 examination shall be conducted according to the following pattern:

Stage-I: Engineering Services Preliminary Examination consists of 02 objective type questions (MCQs) papers with 200 marks for paper- 1 & 300 marks for paper- 2; paper- 1 will be allotted a duration of 02 hours while paper- 02 will be allotted a duration of 03 hours.

Stage-II: Engineering Services Main Examination consists of 02 conventional descriptive type question papers with a duration of 03 hours for each paper and a maximum marks of 300 marks allotted for each paper.

Stage-III: Personality Test will be conducted for 200 marks.
