33% Of The Million Vacancies Listed On NCS Portal Are For Freshers

Are you a fresher looking for a job? Then we’ve got great news for you. As per an official statement by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, there are over a million vacancies listed on the National Career Service (NCS) portal as of August 28, 2023. 33% of these vacancies are for freshers. 

“Out of the one million active vacancies, about one-third vacancies are notified for the selection of freshers, which would facilitate many young candidates to get employment opportunity just after their education," a labour ministry statement said.

NCS is a national portal that helps connect job seekers with employers. As per the Ministry of Labour & Employment, the portal “facilitates registration of job seekers, job providers, skill providers, career counsellors, etc.”

Vacancies For Freshers: Top Roles & Sectors

In its statement, the Ministry announced that the vacancies have been reported by both, public and private sector employers. At present, 1.5 million employers have registered on the NCS. 

68% of the employers belong to the service sector, and 26% are from manufacturing. Overall, the with the highest vacancies was the finance and insurance sector. It had 51% vacancies

It was followed by transport and storage (13%) and operations & support, IT & communication, and manufacturing (12%). 

The most significant number of vacancies registered on NCS are related to the following roles: 

• Technical Support Executives
• Sales Executives
• Data Entry Operators
• Software Engineers
• Logistics Executives
• Maintenance Engineers

To access the NCS portal, simply click on the following link: https://www.ncs.gov.in/

To register as a job seeker, click on the jobseeker tab at the top of the homepage and select register from the drop-down menu. This will redirect you to the registration page, where you need to register as a job seeker and add a Unique Identification. 

You can search for jobs on the NCS portal via the NCS home page itself. You can filter for the type of employment (work from home, apprenticeship, internship, or full-time), type of candidate (women, ex-servicemen, etc.), and more.
