What an interesting internship at Jio Creative Labs! -By Jimit Patel from MDI Murshidabad
Meet Jimit, who thinks the best is always yet to come and is skilled at pitching clients, decoding briefs, providing a marketing strategy with proper analysis and research, and social media analysis. Currently, toiling hard on a project which includes both G2M and Digital Marketing, let’s see how he successfully managed to bag an internship at Jio Creative Labs during the crisis.
My internship journey at Jio Creative Labs initiated during campus recruitment. The selection process consisted of three rounds. The first was the Group Discussion, followed by a situational creative round where situations were provided and we had to enact them in the most creative way as possible, and the last being the PI round. After cracking the selection process I was offered the role of a Content Strategy intern.
A virtual induction that felt all too real
The induction process was very smooth. Although we had a virtual internship, the learnings and exposure were nothing less than a physical one. The initial week was full of workshops where we got to know about the working of the company and their work culture along with certain technical aspects like, how to decode a brief, present a proper pitch deck, etc.
Learning from the experts
This virtual summer internship at Jio Creative Labs bestowed me with a plethora of opportunities to hone my skills. Some of the major ones include research, decoding the brief, giving a solution to the problem, ideation on marketing strategy and its implementation, creating an impressive pitch deck, competitor analysis, consumer buying journey, making a personalised website, preparing a film/mood board with stock footages and building a go-to-market strategy plan
Overall there are uncountable takeaways, but there was this one incident, when the mentor said, “Whenever you get the brief, dive deep into it and try and know things as much as you can, as learning will always help you in the long run, and keep doing interesting things."
Because all work no play makes Jack a dull boy
The virtual internship was the very first time for both me and the organization, but still, they managed to pull it off. There are many incidents which will be cherished forever, few being: every Monday announcement of the ‘Intern of the Week’, ‘Jio's Got Talent’ which was conducted virtually where the interns and the mentors showcased their individual talents over the zoom call and ‘Jeeta Rahe Mera India’ initiative during this pandemic. There were quite a lot of team building activities that were performed amidst all the hard work. We cracked jokes, confessed, and played different games. This was really great to build the synergy amongst the team.
And this is all about how I accomplished my virtual internship during the Corona crisis.
