What do you need to do to win GSK E^3 -With Apoorva Bansal, Ritika Jha and Garima Singh Nahar from IIM Shillong
GSK Pharmaceuticals Limited brings us an yearly strategy competition that only the out-of-box thinkers can win! Named the GSK E^3, Engaging and Exciting minds for Excellence, the competition has multiple levels that keep eliminating teams, until the top 5 make it to the National FInale at GSK House, Mumbai.
The participants are given real-world business problems and asked to prepare and submit presentations outlining their solutions. The pharma giant has structured the competition so that each level is a new experience and gives the qualifying teams a chance to see how the actual business operates. The team that wins the grand finale, gets a cash prize of INR 3,00,000 along with a pre-placement interview from GSK Pharma.
This year, the winning team was from IIM Shillong. The nervous but determined team was a first-timer and competed against some big names such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and IIM Indore. Apoorva Bansal, Ritika Jha, and Garima Singh were the faces behind the winning strategy presented in GSK E^3.
Apoorva says that the mentorship provided during the competition really helped them understand the realities that their idea would have to live up to. Their case study was on the digitization of the pharma industry. Their solution was structured around an attempt to merge the e-pharma industry with the current business model used by pharma companies to operate online. They tried to come up with a strategy that bridges the gap between the online and offline channels.
