The pioneer of the world of beauty tech- L’Oréal has appointed Asmita Dubey, an Indian national as its Chief Digital Officer. A strategic thinker and experienced person to lead the second phase of digital transformation, Asmita becomes a member of the Executive Committee of L’Oréal post this achievement. She has previously held the position of Chief Media Officer for China and the Asia Pacific to strengthen the digital footprint of L’Oréal in that rapidly growing region.

After seven years, she stepped down to join an investment firm JAB holdings as a partner to pursue new career opportunities outside L’Oréal.
Building blocks of Asmita’s career
Achieving the position of Chief Digital Officer, Asmita Dubey’s diverse background with experience can be credited for her new heights. Being a graduate in Statistics from Hindu College, Delhi University, she headed towards pursuing post-graduation from the University of Lucknow in Marketing Economics and Management.
Before joining L’Oréal, she started her career in a world-renowned media communication agency called Starcom as a media planner; and later joined Universal McCann as a media director. Besides this, she joined an advertising and marketing company Mindshare as a business director where she was promoted to the position of managing director.
Asmita’s Real-L’Oréal Journey
Having experience in digital marketing and advertising, Asmita started her L’Oréal journey in the year 2013 as CMO in China and the Asia Pacific and was promoted to Chief Digital Officer for the Consumer Products division in 2017.
In 2020, Asmita was named as the Chief Media Officer for the L’Oréal Group. It was in this period when she laid the foundation for the L’Oréal e-commerce market in China by building the first joint partnership with Alibaba and Tencent. With this, she successfully implemented marketing and digital programs in the world's largest and complex digital market. Now, she, as a real expert, is appointed to build the next big phase of the digital transformation to embark L’Oréal in a data-driven and tech-enabled world.
