What the Management Consulting domain looks like at Bain & Company -With Raghaw Jhunjhunwala from IIM Ahmedabad
One of the most popular and sought after specializations in a B-School is that of Consulting. Be it McKinsey & Company or Bain & Company, the craze for this domain is beyond comparison, so much that B-Schoolers eagerly await shortlists from Consulting firms in particular once the placement season begins in full swing. To uncover the stark reality of the Consulting domain, Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)got into a discussion with Raghaw Jhunjhunwala, a Management Consultant at Bain & Company.
Raghaw joined Bain & Company in June last year as an Associate Consultant and has been working with the reputed organization since then. In Raghaw’s words, “as Management Consultants, we advise clients on business problems which generally are executive-level problems like how to enter a market, how to get profits, etc.”
From helping a client to devise a market entering strategy into B2B e-commerce to exposure in multiple sectors like consumer-tech, retail and serving conglomerates - right from strategy to MnAs, Raghaw’s Consulting journey has been a roller coaster ride that only goes up. And this is not all!
In the video above, Raghaw goes on to talk about the difference between the expectations of a Consulting student and the realities of actually working in the domain. He further elaborates on the career trajectory of a Management Consultant, right from the placement process to the point where a student finally makes it to the organization and how one can pave his way into a Consulting firm.
