G. B. Pant DSEU Okhla-III Campus formerly known as G. B. Pant Institute of Technology and prior that G. B. Pant Polytechnic. G. B. Pant Polytechnic was established in 1961. It was named after Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, a renowned freedom fighter and an able administrator. This Polytechnic flaunts its name in the international arena by being the biggest Polytechnic in Asia. The institute is housed in a plot of area of more than 20.25 acres. It consists of spacious Academic complex, Workshops, Laboratories, Library, Residential quarters and playground.

The institute was started with three conventional branches of engineering diploma courses (three years duration) i.e. Electrical Engg, Mechanical Engg & Civil Engg in 1961. Later on, in 1966 diploma course in Automobile Engg course was added followed by Production Engg in 1979. In 1972, the Part-Time evening diploma course of four years duration was introduced in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering to provide continuing education to the in service ITI passed students who are unable to join full-time day diploma courses but still wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills.

G. B. Pant DSEU Okhla-III Campus is located in the Okhla Industrial Estate, Okhla Phase III, New Delhi-110020, near Nehru Place in South Delhi. It is also connected to Violet line Metro. The nearest metro station is Govinpuri Metro Station.
