  • Punjab Engineering College  (PEC) (Deemed to be University) was established in Lahore as Muugalpura Engineering College is 1921.
  • Later on, it moved to present campus in 1953 as Punjab Engineering College (PEC) affiliated to Panjab University.
  • The institute was given the status of Deemed University in 2003 and was given the new name PEC University of Technology in 2009.
  • The university is spread over an area 149 acres and is close to beautiful Shivalik hills.
  • The university is funded by Union Territory of Chandigarh, Govt. of India.
  • The academic and administrative processes of the institute are similar to that of top IITs of the country.
  • The institute offers 8 UG B.Tech. Programs and 14 PG M.Tech. Programs in various disciplines of technology and engineering.
  • The institute also started Ph.D. programs in disciplines like management, science, engineering, etc once they turned into a university.
  • There are nine academic departments and two centers of excellence.
  • The institute collaborates very closely with alumni, industries, research organizations, and other academic institutes both India and abroad and has also signed MoUs to pursue research in various niche areas.
  • The graduates of this institute are also placed in very highly reputed firms with handsome salary packages.
