Let's see, what Among Us is all about?
Among Us is an inter-departmental competition organized by Vangati DCAC (the commerce association), where each department designs its own unique and creative games for other departments to participate in. The department that executes the most engaging, innovative, and well-executed game earns the title of “Best Event of the Year”, recognizing their exceptional contribution to this exciting and vibrant event.
The competition takes place over two days: the Prelims and the Mains, with all departments participating in the Prelims. However, only the top-performing teams from the Prelims will advance to the Mains, ensuring a dynamic and competitive atmosphere.
Prelims (Day 1):
The Prelims on Day 1 serve as the foundation for creativity, where each department presents their game concepts. The games are judged on originality, engagement, and execution, challenging departments to design games that captivate participants and spark excitement. The best-performing teams will move on to the Mains, where they will refine and showcase their fully developed game designs.
Mains (Day 2):
The second day features the Mains, where the top teams from the Prelims compete with their final game concepts. This is where the competition intensifies, and creativity is pushed to new heights. The focus is on creating immersive, engaging, and innovative games that offer participants a unique experience. The department that delivers the most well-executed and captivating game will win the coveted title of “Best Event of the Year”.
Among Us is more than just a competition—it is a celebration of the core values that define the spirit of commerce: creativity, collaboration, and strategic thinking. Commerce thrives on innovation and the ability to transform ideas into impactful experiences, and Among Us mirrors this process. As departments collaborate to design and execute their games, they are not just competing—they are learning to think critically, work as a team, and develop solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
In the professional world, success is often defined by the ability to innovate, solve problems, and work effectively with others. Among Us offers a platform where students can experience these challenges firsthand. The event fosters a collaborative environment where participants must communicate, adapt, and work together to achieve a common goal—much like in any business setting.
Moreover, the competition reflects the commercial world’s demand for creativity and strategic thinking. Students must not only come up with fun and engaging game ideas but also ensure that they are feasible, well-organized, and executed flawlessly. This blend of creativity, planning, and execution mirrors the process of turning business concepts into tangible results.
Ultimately, Among Us is a powerful demonstration of how commerce is not just about transactions, but about innovation, teamwork, and turning ideas into reality. It is an experience that prepares students for future challenges in business, encouraging them to think outside the box and work together to create something impactful.
