All that you need to know about Aero Rush Drone Desing Competition

The Aero Rush Drone Design Competition challenges students to create innovative multirotor drone designs using CAD tools, emphasizing efficiency, precision, and creativity. This competition serves as a platform for students to showcase their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and innovative thinking in drone technology. By participating, students will enhance their understanding of drone design, aerodynamics, and material selection while working collaboratively in a team environment.

Guidelines:

The competition is open to undergraduate students who are currently in their second year or below. Each team must consist of exactly four members, ensuring a balanced approach to teamwork and skill distribution. While inter-specialization teams are allowed, all team members must belong to the same institution, meaning inter-college teams are not permitted. Institutions can register multiple teams, provided each team submits a unique design.

Participants must independently develop their designs without external assistance from professionals or faculty members. The submitted drone design must be entirely original and must not replicate or modify existing commercial or prototype drones. The primary focus of the competition is on innovation, structural integrity, and practicality, encouraging students to develop designs that are both feasible and creative.

Submission Guidelines:

Each team is required to submit a 3D CAD model of their drone design, including top, side, and front views. Alongside the CAD submission, teams must provide a technical summary (maximum two pages) explaining the design philosophy, material selection, and innovative features incorporated in the drone. The CAD files must be submitted in .STEP or .IGES format, while the technical summary should be in PDF format. Submissions must be uploaded to the designated competition portal by the specified deadline.

Evaluation Criteria:

Submissions will be judged based on four key aspects:

  • Design Innovation (30 points): Creativity and originality in the drone’s features.
  • Technical Feasibility (30 points): Practicality and adherence to design requirements.
  • Aesthetic & Structural Integrity (20 points): Overall design appeal and build quality.
  • Presentation Quality (20 points): Clarity and detail of the CAD design and technical documentation.

General Rules:

  • Plagiarism in any form will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The judges' decision is final and cannot be challenged.
  • All submitted designs will become the property of the organizing committee and may be used for promotional purposes.
  • Any rule changes or updates will be communicated to team leaders via email.

This competition provides students with a great opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical and competitive setting, pushing the boundaries of drone design and innovation.
