All that you need to know about AI Story Showdown
A transformative competition blending AI and storytelling to create, defend, and publish captivating fictional concepts.
Guidelines:
- Number of participants: 3 per team
- College ID cards are mandatory for on-campus events.
- Participants must carry their entry tags from the inauguration to the valedictory ceremony.
- Participants must bring their own Wi-Fi dongle or have a strong internet connection to avoid network disruptions. (Wi-Fi will be provided but may face traffic issues).
- Teams must maintain decorum during the event and respect other participants.
- Any disputes will be resolved by the organizing committee, and their decision will be final.
- Event timing: 2Hrs
PRELIMS:
- ONLINE QUIZ:
- Questions will be asked based on books, authors, genre.
- 30 questions maximum.
- Duration : 40 minutes.
- OFFLINE:
- Offline Prelims Will Be Conducted if Necessary.
- Phase 1: Concept Book Creation: Design the front and back covers of a fictional book using AI or online tools.
Key Deliverables:
- Genre Selection: Preferably fiction with AI-related themes.
- Title and Tagline: Catchy and relevant to the chosen theme.
- Back Cover Blurb: A short summary to entice readers.
- Book Cover Design: Visually appealing and aligned with the genre.
- Submission Format: Image files (front and back covers) submitted within the allocated time.
- Social Media Aspect: Covers will be posted on Instagram for online validation.
Likes and engagement count for 30% of the evaluation.
Duration: 60 minutes.
Phase 2: Storyline/Chapter and Group Discussion: Create a compelling chapter or storyline for the book and discuss its concept in a group discussion.
Tasks:
- Write the Chapter: Highlight the book’s unique aspects and engage the reader with creative
storytelling. - Share with Teams: Promote peer evaluation and feedback.
- Group Discussion: One representative per team participates in a 10-minute discussion with the judges. Share thoughts on opponents' storyline, address questions, and defend the storyline.
- Evaluation Focus: Contribution to the discussion.
Valid points and involvement in the storyline’s development. - Duration: 20 minutes.
Phase 3: Publishing and Justification: Select a publishing strategy and defend it.
Tasks: - Identify a Publisher: Traditional publishers (e.g., Penguin Random House) based on genre and audience. Justify their credibility and ability to reach the target market.
- Self-Publishing Option: Justify cost-effectiveness, creative control, and audience targeting.
Key Justifications:
- Target Audience: Who will read your book and why?
- Reach: How will the book get to readers (digital or physical distribution)?
- Duration: 30 minutes.
- Buffer time: 10 minutes
