OVERVIEW:

“Budget for Life” is a fun and interactive financial simulation game where each team plays the role of a young adult navigating through different stages of life. The challenge? Managing a fixed budget wisely while making smart investment choices and tackling unexpected emergencies.

OBJECTIVE:

Make strategic financial decisions across various life stages to maximize your net worth by the end of the game.

TEAM STRUCTURE:

• 2–4 Members per Team
  • Each team starts with a budget of ₹5,00,000

CATEGORIES FOR ALLOCATION:

In each round, teams will allocate their budget into the following three categories:

1. Essentials – Covers your day-to-day living expenses such as groceries, rent, and bills.
2. Investments – Choose to invest in high-risk/high-return options like stocks and cryptocurrency. Market conditions will influence gains or losses.
3. Emergency Fund – Save a portion of your budget here to cover surprise life events. Emergencies will be decided by a lucky draw system using chits.

GAME FORMAT:

The game is played in three rounds, each representing a different phase of life. In each round:
- Teams will receive updates on market trends and lifestyle changes.
- New life events or emergencies may arise (decided through chits).
- Teams must strategize their allocations based on the round’s conditions.
- Once decisions are submitted, they cannot be changed.

Round 1: Early Adulthood

Round 2: Midlife Growth

Round 3: Settled Life

RULES:

1. All decisions must be submitted within the given time for each round.
   2. Once a decision is submitted, it is final.
   3. Emergencies are randomly assigned through a chit system.
   4. No team may take outside help or collaborate with other teams.
   5. Teams falling into financial deficit at any stage will be eliminated.
