All that you need to know about Case Comp - Case Study Competition

1. Event Details:

  • Case Comp is a Case Study Competition, organized by ISTE NITK during Incident Fest 2026.
  • The final round of the competition will be conducted on March 13, 2026,with a total duration of 4 hours.
  • The event structure will be hybrid, with initial rounds conducted online
  • and the final round conducted offline at NITK Surathkal.
  • The competition aims to test participants on structured problem solving, business analysis, decisionmaking, and presentation skills using realworld case scenarios.

2. Event Timeline & Flow:

  • February 16: Competition goes live on Unstop (registrations open)
  • February 26: Registration deadline
  • February 27: Online quiz round for shortlisting teams 
  • March 4: First round case solution submission (2 pages + Appendix)
  • March 6: Round 1 result
  • March 15: Offline final round during Incident Fest. (8 slides submission)

The online quiz round will be used to assess participants’ analytical aptitude and foundational understanding.

Based on quiz performance, teams will advance to the submission round.

From the first round submissions, 50 teams will be shortlisted and invited to NITK Surathkal to present their solutions offline in front of judges.

3.  Final Ranking:

Final rankings will be based on cumulative judge scores during the offline presentation round.

In case of tie:

  • Higher score in problem diagnosis and financial justification will take precedence.

All decisions made by the judging panel and organizing committee are final and binding.

4.  Prizes:

Total Prize Pool: ₹50,000

  • 1st Place – ₹25,000
  • 2nd Place – ₹15,000
  • 3rd Place – ₹8,000
  • 4th Place – ₹1,000
  • 5th Place – ₹1,000

Certificates will be awarded to finalists and winners.

5.  Code of Conduct & General Rules

  • Each team must submit original work.
  • Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Teams must adhere to submission deadlines strictly.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Any form of collusion, academic misconduct, or misrepresentation will result in disqualification.
  • Judges’ decisions are final and non-negotiable.
