Case Twist: Stages and Timelines

Details: The quiz will include MCQs based on entrepreneurship basics, startup ecosystem, business models, case study fundamentals, and logical reasoning

CaseEx(Case Study Evaluation)(Offline Day1)

Round 2: CaseEx (Case Study Evaluation) Participants will be given case studies that they need to study upon on the basis of: Problem Identification Root Cause Analysis Proposed Solution Implementation Plan Community / Business Impact Risks and Mitigation. In this round, teams must submit a structured PowerPoint deck clearly outlining the problem statement, proposed solution, business model, market opportunity, competitive advantage, and financial projections as per the prescribed format. The focus is on validating real market need, scalability, and revenue feasibility. Judges evaluate clarity, innovation, execution strategy, and commercial viability through the submitted presentation.

Final Presentation (Offline) — The round with judges

Teams will present their case solutions in form of a PPT in front of a panel of judges At the start of Round 3, each team will be given a surprise twist to their original case study — a new constraint, a changed variable, or an unexpected development that shifts the problem Teams will get a short preparation window to adapt their existing solution to the new scenario The final presentation must incorporate and address this twist

About the Competition:

  • A dynamic case-based competition focused on business strategy and community impact
  • Challenges participants to analyse real-world problems and engineer structured, feasible solutions
  • Encourages adaptability under uncertainty similar to real entrepreneurial environments
  • Provides exposure to analytical screening, case evaluation, and a high-stakes final pitch
  • Designed to refine entrepreneurial thinking and engagement with industry experts

Eligibility:

  • Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines
  • Team size: 2 to 5 members per team
  • Inter-college teams allowed
  • Inter-specialisation teams allowed

Competition Format:

  • Three stages: Online Screening, Case Evaluation, and Final Offline Presentation with a twist

Phase I – Online Assessment:

  • Platform: Unstop
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Focus on entrepreneurship fundamentals, business models, startup ecosystem awareness, logical reasoning, and case-solving basics
  • Teams with highest scores advance to next round

Phase II – CaseEx: Case Study Evaluation:

  • Structured case analysis submission or presentation
  • Focus on core problem identification, root cause analysis, solution strategy, implementation roadmap, feasibility, impact, and risk mitigation
  • Evaluation based on depth of analysis, practicality, clarity of thought, and structured reasoning
  • All teams in this round proceed to the final stage

Phase III – Grand Finale:

  • Mode: Offline at NSUT Campus, New Delhi
  • Live presentation before a panel of judges
  • Fixed time slot for presentation followed by Q&A session
  • Teams receive a surprise constraint or unexpected development at the start
  • Teams must adapt strategy within limited preparation time and incorporate the twist into the final pitch

Judging Criteria:

  • Analytical sharpness
  • Real-world feasibility
  • Innovation
  • Clarity of thought
  • Impact depth
  • Ability to defend decisions under questioning
  • Final winners determined by cumulative scores from Rounds 2 and 3

Rules:

  • Plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification
  • All submissions must be made within stipulated deadlines
  • Malpractice during online assessment will result in cancellation of candidature
  • Participants must maintain university decorum during offline rounds
  • Decision of organisers and judges will be final and binding
