All that you need to know about Codewars
Introduction:
Participate in a thrilling 3-hour marathon coding contest modeled after the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). This competition challenges students to solve complex problems, enhancing their coding and problem-solving skills. Participants can code in any language supported on Codeforces. A reference algorithm booklet (PDF) will be provided to all registered teams, which they can print and use during the contest.
Prize Money:
- 1st Prize: ₹7,500
- 2nd Prize: ₹5,000
- 3rd Prize: ₹3,000
Problem Statement:
- Six problems labeled A, B, C, D, E, and F
- ICPC-style competition
- 3-hour duration
- Teams must solve as many problems as possible within the given time
- Participants can use any programming language supported by Codeforces
- Internet usage is strictly limited to online compilers only
- Single round only
Round 1:

General Rules:
- The contest will be conducted on Codeforces
- Each team gets one computer for submissions (ICPC-style)
- Ranking is based on the number of problems solved
- Tiebreaker: Total time taken plus penalty for wrong submissions
- Plagiarism and unauthorized internet use will result in disqualification
- Decisions by organizers are final
- Misbehavior will lead to disqualification
- If fewer than 20 teams register, only two prizes will be awarded
- If fewer than 10 teams register, only the first prize will be awarded
Time Specifications & Eligibility:
- Team event with a maximum of 3 members per team
- Participants must be college or university students (no graduates as of March)
- All team members must be from the same institution
- Participants must bring their college or university ID cards
- Once registered, multiple registrations are not allowed
- Inappropriate usernames can lead to disqualification
Judging Criteria:
- Teams are ranked by the number of problems solved
- In case of ties, total time taken (including penalties) will determine ranking
- Wrong submission penalty: 10 minutes per incorrect submission

About Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat
- Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (SVNIT) was established in 1961 as one of the Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) for imparting technical education in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
- On the advice of University Grants Commission, the Central Government declared the Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVREC), Surat to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat with the status of “Deemed University” w.e.f 4th December 2002.
- The institute has also been given the status of ‘Institute of National Importance’ w.e.f 15th August 2007.
- Currently, the Institute offers 6 UG programs,18 PG Programmes and 3 M.Sc. Five Years Integrated Programme including a doctoral program in all the above branches.
