Amazon Advertising S.M.A.R.T Challenge: Stages and Timelines

All the registered participants to get an opportunity to meet Amazon Advertising team and hear from them on how to ace the S.M.A.R.T Challenge and much more.

Online Quiz (Mandatory for all participants in the team)

Every participant will get a set of questions to be answered within 30 minutes. It will be based on digital marketing, advertising fundamentals, and fundamental understanding of Amazon Advertising products.

Case Study: Approach Note Submission Round (Team Submission)

The shortlisted teams from the online quiz round will submit their solutions (5 questions, 1000 words max.) to the problem statement. All teams will submit their solutions in word document format.

Grand Finale (Presentation Submission Round)

The top 10 teams will be required to submit their solutions in form of presentations (max. 5 slides) to be presented to the panel of judges comprising leaders from Amazon Advertising at the Grand Finale.

Grand Finale (Team Presentation)

The top 10 teams will present their solutions in form of presentations (max. 5 slides) to the panel of judges comprising leaders from Amazon Advertising. All teams will get 10 minutes to present followed by 5 minutes of Q&A.

Amazon Advertising presents the S.M.A.R.T Challenge: Strategize, Market, Advertise, Reign, Transcend

Eligibility Criteria: This competition is open to both first and second-year students pursuing full-time MBA programs from a list of selected Business Schools in India.

Team formation guidelines:

  • Students from full-time MBA programs from eligible campuses can participate.
  • Students must register in teams of 2 to 3 members.
  • The students can be from any specialization.
  • Only students from the same campus can form a team.
  • Cross-year and cross-specialization teams can participate.
  • One participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
  • All the team members are required to verify and confirm their details to form a team.
  • Any deviation from the above-mentioned guidelines will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team.

Stages: Amazon Advertising S.M.A.R.T Challenge will have 2 elimination rounds after which the top 10 teams will compete at the Grand Finale where all teams will get to present their solutions to the panel of judges.

Competition Structure:

Round 1: Online Quiz

  • All team members will attempt the quiz individually. It is mandatory for all team members to complete the quiz.
  • All registered teams will have to take this online quiz. It will be based on digital marketing, advertising fundamentals, and fundamental understanding of Amazon Advertising products.
  • There is no negative marking for this quiz.
  • Every participant will get a set of 30 questions to be answered within 30 minutes.
  • The quiz window will be 6 hours and have to be completed in one go.
  • You can play the quiz only on a desktop/laptop with webcam access.
  • Shortlisting will be done on the basis of team scores i.e average scores of all individual team members.
  • Every team will be ranked on accuracy (score) and speed (best time). This means that if two teams have the same score, then the team that finished earlier will be ranked higher.
  • You can go through the Amazon Advertising learning console for knowledge about various advertising products.
  • Amazon Advertising offers certifications that allow marketing professionals to validate their proficiency in specific topics. Individuals who successfully pass an Amazon Advertising Certification Assessment will earn an Amazon Advertising digital certification badge for that topic.

Round 2: Case Study - Approach Note Submission

  • Shortlisted teams from the online quiz round will submit their solutions (5 questions, 1000 words max.) to the problem statement.
  • Team leaders will submit their solutions in word document format.
  • The deadline to submit your solutions is 11:59 PM, 12th September 2021.
  • Team leaders will be able to make submissions until the deadline for this round and anytime during the challenge window.

Round 3: Grand Finale

The top 10 teams will present their solutions in form of presentations (max. 5 slides) to the panel of judges comprising leaders from Amazon Advertising. All teams will get 10 minutes to present followed by 5 minutes of Q&A.
