All that you need to know about Code for GovTech 2023

India has witnessed a remarkable growth of Digital Public Goods (DPGs) in recent times. The launch of Namma Yatri, a collaborative effort of Beckn Open Collective, Juspay, and Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union Bangalore, exemplifies this trend.

To further this growth, Code for GovTech (C4GT) has been introduced as India's first dedicated mentoring program, aimed at creating a community that can build and contribute to global DPGs. Participants selected for the program will work on live open-source projects targeted at solving population-scale governance challenges. They will receive close mentoring from experienced practitioners from Indian GovTech organizations, and a stipend of 1 Lakh for the duration of the program. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to secure a PPI and PPO after the program ends.

This program is run by Samagra, a mission-driven governance consulting firm, and supported by Digital Public Goods Alliance and Omidyar Network India as knowledge partners.

If you're interested in making an impact using open source, this is a unique opportunity to do so!

The coding period for selected participants would be from July - August.

About Samagra Governance

We are working to improve the quality of life of citizens through better governance.

Our Model:

We are a mission-driven governance consulting firm. We firmly believe in governance being the primary lever of change to create large scale impact in the country. We work with the senior political and bureaucratic leadership of states to solve governance problems at scale. From the time we are approached with a problem statement, we cowork with the government to diagnose the challenge, design a transformation roadmap and implement the same. The solutions we develop are rooted in the realities of governance in India. All our engagements are typically two-three year-long systemic transformation programmes.

Our Approach:

We combine a top-down management consulting approach for problem structuring with a bottom-up understanding of the governance ecosystem for designing solutions, while leveraging data and technology to enable implementation of our solutions, with the objective of making governments accountable and deliver with minimum delays and maximum efficiency.
