Finstreet invites all finance enthusiasts to get prepared and unleash their financial acumen and presentation skills. Enter this Inter-College Equity Research Competition, where leading B-Schools in India compete to produce a company research report based on several valuation approaches to provide a logical and persuasive case.

The qualifiers from Round 1 must submit an industry research report on a potential multi-bagger sector, followed by a company report on a potential multi-bagger company from the same industry. Attaching the valuation Excel file with the company report is mandatory.

General Instructions:

• All MBA students are eligible to participate in the competition.
• Cross-year teams are allowed.
• Each team should consist of 2-3 members.
• Only one member per team (team leader) is required to register on Unstop.
• All the team members must be from the same college.
• Any participant resorting to unfair practices will be directly disqualified from the competition.
• Any deviation from the above-mentioned guidelines will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team.
• All decisions in the matter of eligibility, authenticity & final judgment will be with, Unstop and K J Somaiya Institute of Management.
• The terms and conditions of participation are subject to change at any time without specific notice.
• The amended terms and conditions of entry will be effective immediately upon being posted on the website.
• It is the sole responsibility of the teams to regularly visit the website to take note of any changes.

Key Instructions for Quiz Round:

• The quiz duration would be 20 minutes.
• Total number of questions to be answered would be 30.
• You need to attempt the quiz within the given window.
• Please ensure that you attempt the quiz in one sitting.
• Once you start the quiz, it cannot be stopped, and once a question is answered, you cannot go back to the previous one.
• There will be no negative marking for the online quiz.
• The test will be proctored, and any participant who resorts to unfair practices will be directly disqualified from the competition.

Key Instructions for Potential Industry Report Submission Round:

• The number of pages is limited to 20 (including the title page, images, and graphs but excluding index and reference pages).
• Include sources for all the graphs and images used.
• The report has to be submitted in PDF format only.
• The report has to be submitted on the Unstop platform only.
• Only the team leader will be allowed to submit.
• Plagiarism of up to 15% will be considered.
• Font size – 11
• Font style – Times New Roman
• Please ensure that you submit the report on time.
• The naming convention of the file: is ERC Industry Report_College Name_Team Name. For example, ERC Industry Report_KJ Somaiya Institute of Management_Alpha Analysts
• Submission Deadline - 2^nd March, 2025 (Time: 11:59 PM).

Key Instructions for Choosing a Company for the Final Round:

• The teams qualifying the Round 2 will have to submit the company name to the POCs by 3^rd March 2024, 11:59 PM IST.
• The company chosen should be an Indian company only.
• The company chosen should be from the same industry as that in Round 2.
• Companies would be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and no overlapping of companies would be allowed.

Key Instructions for Final Company Presentation:

• The number of slides/pages is limited to 15 (including intro, thank you, annexure).
• Include sources for all the graphs and images used.
• The presentation has to be submitted in PDF format only.
• The DCF has to be submitted in Excel format only.
• The final submission must be submitted in a ZIP file. (Presentation + DCF)
• Only the team leader will be allowed to submit.
• Plagiarism of up to 15% will be considered.
• Avoid using AI-generated content.
• Font size – 11
• Font style – Times New Roman
• Please ensure that you submit the report on time.
• Company Annual Reports, Concalls, Investor presentations, and authentic government sources like Mospi, PIB, etc, are preferred over other third-party sources.
• Submission Deadline – 5^th March, 2025 (Time: 11:59 PM IST)
• The naming convention of the zip file: ERC Company Presentation_College Name_Team Name. For example, ERC Company Presentation_KJ Somaiya Institute of Management_Alpha Analysts
• The presentation will happen on campus on 7th March 2025; However, for teams outside Mumbai, online arrangements will be made.

Your Excel valuation sheet must include the following:

• Historical financial statements
• Forecasted financial statements
• Basis of assumptions
• Financial analysis
• DCF Valuation
• Buy, sell, or hold a recommendation
