All that you need to know about Fiscal Diplomacy – A Finance MUN
Event Structure:
- Team Roles: 3 members – Finance Minister, Economic Affairs Minister, Expenditure Minister.
- Task: Develop a budget based on provided demographics and tax regimes.
Judging:
Teams are scored on the accuracy of their budget prediction, strategic planning, and presentation quality, compared to the actual budget of the country.
Rules & Regulations :
- Team Composition:
- Each team must consist of exactly 3 members, each assigned one of the following roles: Finance Minister, Minister of Economic Affairs, or Minister of Expenditure.
- Budget Development:
- Teams are required to create a comprehensive budget for their assigned country using the provided demographic, tax regime, and economic data.
- Teams may reference external sources to inform their decisions but must use the official data provided as the basis for their budget.
- Presentation:
- Each team has 5-minutes for their presentation, followed by a 5-minute Q&A with judges.
- Presentations should cover budget allocations, revenue generation, and fiscal strategies relevant to the assigned country.

- Evaluation Criteria:
- Accuracy: How closely their proposed budget aligns with the actual budget released by the country.
- Fiscal Strategy: Effectiveness of spending allocations and revenue policies.
- Innovation: Creative and practical solutions for managing economic challenges.
- Clarity and Teamwork: Quality of presentation and collaboration.

- All participants are expected to maintain a respectful and professional demeanor.
- Plagiarism or presenting others’ work as one’s own will result in disqualification.

About Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur
- The college was established in 1963 by the joint venture of Government of India and Government of Rajasthan with the name Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur.
- On 26th June 2002, the college has been given the status of National Institute of Technolgy (NIT) and later on 15th august 2007 the college has been proclaimed as the Institute of National Importance through the Act of Parliament.
- The college has continued to provide their wonderful service to their students and till now more than 12,000 students have graduated since its establishment.
- The beautiful campus is spread over an area of 317 acres of lush greenery.
- The residential campus offers accommodation to faculty, staff, and students.
