The Global Model United Nations 2026 (GMUN) is a premier international simulation of the United Nations, bringing together students from across the world to engage in diplomacy, negotiation, and high-level debate on pressing global challenges. Designed to mirror real UN proceedings, GMUN offers an immersive platform where participants assume the roles of world leaders and diplomats, craft resolutions, and navigate complex geopolitical dynamics. The conference provides a unique opportunity to experience international relations, policy-making, and conflict resolution in a realistic and intellectually rigorous environment that prepares the next generation of global thinkers and changemakers.

Key Features:
- Participation: The conference attracts talented and diverse students from across the country, creating an environment that encourages cross-cultural understanding and collaboration. Delegates take on the roles of diplomats representing various nations. They research their assigned country, understand its policies, and articulate its position on the agenda being discussed.
- The online Global Model United Nations 2026 will host the following committee:
- Commission on the Status of Women (UN CSW)
- Networking and Cultural Exchange: In addition to formal committee sessions, the conference provides meaningful opportunities for networking and cultural exchange. Delegates interact, share perspectives, and form lasting connections with students from varied backgrounds.
Rules:
- Global MUN will be a three-day event.
- Participation is open to all students pursuing any degree at the time of the event.
- There are no prerequisites for participation.
- Participation will be individual.
- Participants may register either individually or as a pair.
- Once the registration fee has been paid, no refunds will be issued in case of withdrawal from the event.
- All allocations and upgrades will be based on the discretion of the Executive Board and the Secretariat.
- Candidates must refrain from submitting false or misleading documents. Any such case discovered at any stage will result in immediate disqualification without refund.

About Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur
- The first IIT was born in May 1950 in Hijli, Kharagpur, in the eastern part of India.
- This is possibly one of the very few Institutions of the world that started life in a prison house.
- Before the formal inauguration of the Institute on August 18, 1951, the present name 'Indian Institute of Technology' was adopted by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
- IIT Kharagpur, fondly referred to as IITKGP, has the largest campus among all IITs - at 2100 acres and as home to 20000 residents, it is a mini township. It is a two-hour drive from Kolkata airport, connected by National Highways and rail to Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai, with trains to and from Kolkata running throughout the day.
- IIT Kharagpur Motto: "Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam" which literally translates to "Excellence in action is Yoga". This implies that doing your work well is (true) yoga.
