Integration Bee: Stages and Timelines

Preliminary Round

  • Time - 30 minutes Questions - 10 (Easy, Medium and Difficult) Top 16 qualify for playoffs Tie-breaker criteria: 1) In case of a tie, priority will be given to the number of difficult questions solved, followed by medium and then easy.
  • 2) In case of a tie again, a sudden death round will be kept, and the winner shall be given a higher ranking. Detailed Syllabus provided in rulebook

Playoff Round

  • Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Finals Match Format Best of Three (BO3) - All rounds except final:
  • The two teams will be presented with 3 problems. Any team that manages to solve the two problems first, and correctly, will be declared as the winner of that draw and will advance to the next round.
  • Best of Five (BO5) - Final only: The team that manages to solve the five problems first will be declared as the champion team. How It Works The two teams will send forward one player for each problem.
  • The same integration problem will be presented to both the players simultaneously. Both players will work independently to solve the problem.
  • The player that submits the correct answer first will be declared the winner for that problem, and the team will get a point.
  • Submission timestamps will be used to determine which player answered first.

An offline Integration Bee - a competitive mathematics event organized in SpaceCon, testing your mastery of integration techniques, problem-solving speed, and mathematical precision. This innovative two-stage format combines online preliminaries with offline knockout rounds, featuring integration-based problems that require multi-step reasoning and comprehensive understanding across various calculus topics.

Eligibility

  • A team must consist of minimum 2 members, and maximum 3 members. (finalized at registration, no changes allowed)
  • If a member is unavailable at the start of any round, he/she is not allowed to participate in the said round.
  • Academic Integrity - Zero Tolerance

Strictly Prohibited       

  • External help from non team members.
  • Sharing questions or answers with other teams.
  • Use of calculators, Wolfram Alpha, or any solution software.
  • Use of unauthorized devices during the main competition.
  • Any form of cheating.

Code of Conduct

  • Respectful and professional behavior is required at all times.
  • Harassment, intimidation, or any form of unsportsmanlike conduct is prohibited.
  • All instructions from organizers and judges must be followed.
  • Disputes must be raised calmly. Decisions of the organizing
    committee will be final.
