Event Title: Inter-College Debate Competition
Hosted by: District Election Office, South Delhi in collaboration with Prabandhan: The Management Club of Jagannath International School, Vasant Kunj, Delhi and IQAC
Event Details:
- Date: 3rd February, 2025
- Venue: Jagannath International School, Vasant Kunj, Delhi
Debate Structure:
- There will be a team of two.
- Each participant will have 3 minutes to present their arguments.
- A question round will follow, during which the judges can ask questions to each participant.
- One of the team members will speak in favor of the topic i.e. "Yes, there should be a minimum qualification criteria for politicians" and another will speak against the topic i.e. "No, there shouldn’t be a minimum qualification criteria for politicians."
- A team member will not be having any face-off or cross-questioning with their other team member.
Rules and Regulations for the event:
- Each team must consist of two participants—one speaking for the motion and the other against the motion.
- Cross-questioning is not allowed.
- The debate can be conducted in English or Hindi. Participants must maintain decorum and avoid offensive language.
- Participants must respect opposing views and maintain decorum throughout the event.
- Participants must be dressed formally.
- Participants are not allowed to use foul language, violation of this will lead to on-the-spot disqualification.
- The decision of the judge is final and binding.
- Use of phones, written notes, or any other aids is strictly prohibited on stage during the debate.
- Misconduct with any judge, faculty or student coordinator will lead to disqualification.
