IPL Auction at Lashkara'23: Stages and Timelines
Quiz Round (on Unstop)
The first round will be a quiz round, consisting of questions from both fields, cricket and general knowledge.This round would be conducted online.This round will be an eliminatory round, and only the top 10 team will progress into the second and final round.
Offline Bidding Round
The final round will be a simulation of IPL Auction Bidding process, where in, each team of players will be given an IPL cricket franchise, to participate as, in the auction. The simulation bidding will be concluded once all teams have completed their teams by ways of buying/retaining players of their choices. In the end, a winner and runner up will be decided according to the maximum utility points collected by their respective cricket squads. The winner will get a cash prize of 1500/- and the runner up will get a cash prize of 1000/-. The reporting time for this event will be 10:30 a.m.

Ecotryst, the Economics Society of SGTB Khalsa College is inviting applications for its IPL Auction for the college's annual fest, Lashkara. Get ready for two days of quizzing, strategizing and auctioning. May the best player win!
Dates: 16 & 17 March 2023
The event consists of 2 rounds -
Round 1 on 16th March: Online Quiz
- The quiz will test the contestants on their cricket, economic and general awareness acumen.
- Kindly note that this is an elimination round and the top-performing teams will be promoted to the next round.
Round 2 on 17th March: Mock IPL Auction
- This round would be a simulation of the IPL Auction.
Rules for the Competition:
- No cross college teams will be allowed.
- College Identification cards would be compulsory for participation in the event.
- Budget allocated to every team is 90 crores and any team exceeding the budget will be disqualified.
- All participants have to bid for both the team and players from the 90 crores itself.
- If the team goes unsold in the auction then it will be sold for amount 30 cr.
- Every team comes with three retained players from last year, the list of which is presented on the next slide.
- Trading of money and players is not allowed.
- It is mandatory for all the teams to have a minimum of 11 players. However, there is no limit on the purchase of players.
- It is mandatory to buy 2 batsmen, 2 bowlers, 1 all- rounder & 1 wicket-keeper failing which the team will be disqualified.
- Till 11 crore, additional bid will increase by 25L and beyond 11 crore, it will increase by 50L.
- During calculation of total utility, Captain will get 2x utility points, Vice-Captain will get 1.5x Utility points.
- Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited. Anyone found doing so will be disqualified.
- The team which maximizes its utility will win.
- In case of equal utility, money left in the bank would be considered.
- Auctioneer’s decision will be final.
