KIRIT 5.0: Stages and Timelines
Online Assessment
The registered teams will participate in an online assessment of 30 minutes. The quiz will consist of aptitude and Kirloskar Group questions. Team scores will be compiled by taking the average score of all team members who attempted the quiz. Top-performing teams will be shortlisted and will move forward to Round 2.
Case Submission Round
The shortlisted teams will be given a case, which can be downloaded from the Case/Brief icon. Teams are required to submit their analysis of the case study. Submissions must include an MS Word document with a word count not exceeding 2500 words and an MS PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 10 slides. Please refer to the submission guidelines for more details.
On-Ground Semi-Final
The top 12 teams will be shortlisted for the Semi-Final, which will be held at KIM, Karnataka campus. KIM will arrange for the travel, food, and accommodation of all semi-finalists.
On-Ground Finale
8 finalist teams will present their solutions to the senior leaders from the Kirloskar Group. The Finale will be held at KIM, Pune campus. KIM will arrange for the travel, food, and accommodation of all finalists.

KIM dedicated itself to the task of Management Development in the Kirloskar Group and other companies by understanding the need to promote managerial and organizational excellence.

After the success of the three editions of KIRIT, this year KIM in association with Kirloskar Industries Limited (KIL), Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL), Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited (KPCL), Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited (KFIL), Kirloskar Chillers Private Limited(KCPL) and ARKA Fincap – announces the fourth edition, KIRIT 5.0.
KIRIT is an inter-collegiate case-analysis competition. This event is aimed at providing an opportunity for young managerial minds to showcase their critical thinking abilities in assessing and proposing solutions to real-life managerial challenges faced by organizations.
Eligibility: The competition is open to all regular full-time undergraduate (B.Tech/BE/BBA/B.A/ B.Com/B.Sc, BCA, etc.) students.
Team Rules:
- Entry to the competition is free.
- Each team will have 3 members only. Teams with at least one female member will be given preference, although this is not mandatory.
- All members of a team must be from the same institute, not necessarily from the same year or department.
- One participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
- There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
- KIM reserves the right to check the validity of the registration information submitted at any point in time.
- Any deviation from the above will result in immediate disqualification of the entire team.
- All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity, and final judgments will lie solely at the discretion of the organizing committee of KIM.
Competition Structure:
Round 1: Online Assessment
- The registered teams will need to take an online assessment of 30 minutes.
- All team members can attempt the assessment individually.
- Team scores will be compiled by taking the average score of all team members who attempted the assessment.
- Based on these test scores, top teams will move forward to Round 2.
Round 2: Case Submission
- The shortlisted teams from Round I will receive a case study which they need to analyse
and submit for evaluation. - Submissions must include:
- A Microsoft Word document with a maximum word count of 2,500 is required. It may contain up to 10% regular plagiarism and up to 10% AI-generated plagiarism. The document must be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin software, and the corresponding plagiarism report should be included as an attachment at the end of the document.
- An MS PowerPoint presentation with not more than 8-10 slides.
- A total of 12 teams will be shortlisted for round III.
Round 3: On-Ground Semi-Final
- The shortlisted 12 teams will present their case analysis physically at KIM-Harihar campus, Karnataka State on 19/2/2025. Eight out of the 12 teams will be shortlisted for the finals.
Round 4: On-Ground Finale

The top 8 teams will present their analysis of the case study to the senior leaders from the Kirloskar Group companies at KIM Pune campus on 21st February 2025 at KIM, Pune campus.
Transport, Food and Accommodation:
- KIM will arrange the travel, food, and accommodation for all members of the selected semi-finalist and finalist teams. All the participants will be traveling to KIM, Pune campus after the semi-final round at KIM, Harihar.
Prizes & Rewards:
- The Winning Team stands a chance to receive PPIs and a cash prize of ₹1,00,000.
- The Runner-Up team stands a chance to win a cash prize of ₹75,000.
- Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants.
