"Parwaaz", The Dramatics Club of IIM Kashipur, brings you the case-based Script Writing competition. This event consists of a single round, where teams will submit a PDF file of a script based on the Cases/Plot Idea chosen by the team from the provided ones.All participating teams must adhere to the guidelines provided before submission. Teams will be judged on their creativity, coordination, and the ability to bring humor into their scripts.

About LEKHNI:
Did you know that some of the most iconic films began as simple ideas scribbled on a page? The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, and countless others all started as drafts waiting to be brought to life. Every masterpiece begins with a single idea and a storyteller bold enough to share it. Your story could be the next to captivate hearts and minds!
Parwaaz - The Dramatics Club of IIM Kashipur proudly presents "LEKHNI– A Script Writing Competition", a golden opportunity for aspiring storytellers to bring their narratives to life. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or someone brimming with untapped creativity, this platform is your gateway to showcasing your unique voice.
Cases/Plot Ideas:
- Ghosted by a Ghost
- A medium is heartbroken when the ghost they've been dating suddenly stops showing up during séances. Was it something they said? Or did the ghost move on—literally?
- The Anti-Love Story
- A cynical screenwriter starts rewriting her failed love life into scripts where she always gets the last word. But when her ex stars in one of the movies, the lines between fiction and reality blur.
- The Empathy Thief
- A man gains the ability to steal emotions from others by touching them, becoming an emotional “chameleon.” But when he falls in love, he finds himself unable to feel his own happiness.
- The essence of freedom
- A girl on her journey to find peace and solace encounters a distraction that changes her simple and monotonous life into so much more. The Journey that she had indeed intended to take is miles away but now she contemplates what is the true essence of the freedom she was seeking her entire life.
- A Letter from Sadness
- A woman receives handwritten letters from her own emotions—anger, joy, and sadness—each one guiding her through the most difficult decision of her life.
Rules and Guidelines:
- The competition is open to teams of 1-3 members.
- The script must be based on one of the 5 provided Cases/Plot Ideas. The narrative should align with the theme of the chosen Cases/Plot Ideas.
- Please note that the script should be suitable for theatrical performances.
- It should be written in English or Hindi.
- The script must be original and not plagiarized. Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
- You may draw ideas from any script, book, story, or drama, but the final submission must have a unique twist that reflects your creativity and originality.
- The word count should be between 1000 and 2500 words. Not adhering to the word limit will attract a negative mark.
- Scripts must not contain any offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
- Teams must avoid making fun of or directly attacking any individual, group or institution.
- Each participant/team can submit only one script.
- Decisions made by the judges will be final and binding.

Judgement Criteria:
- Creativity and Originality: Innovative ideas and unique storytelling approaches.
- Character Development: Depth and relatability of characters.
- Plot and Structure: Engaging storyline with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
- Relevance to Prompt: Adherence to and effective utilization of the chosen prompt.
