Mark-Guru'23 , A Level National Marketing Case Study Competition: Stages and Timelines

Live Marketing Workshops by corporate Mentors of HUL, P&G, and Patanjali (8 hrs Bootcamp)

In this round, all the registered teams will be divided into small cohorts, and corporate mentors from top firms will conduct detailed extensive industry-oriented workshops with the teams to groom them better on important Marketing concepts

Case Study Launch - Submission Round (via Unstop)

This will be a submission round! You will see the “Submit” button here, once the round is live. The case study will be released for the competition, The problem will revolve around any of the including market acquisition, penetration, brand creation, campaign designing, and GTMs. eams are required to work on the implementable solution for the given problem statement

Live Case Study Presentation Round

A live case presentation in front of the jury members will be conducted. The presentation would last 15 minutes in total, followed by a 5-minute team-specific Q&A session. This round will be conducted on Zoom

Girl Up BHU is an initiative by young girls to serve women and uplift their stature to where they belong. Our mission is to educate women to defend, advocate and create a safe place for them to begin their professional journey. Through this program, we endeavor to create a platform and a supportive audience to help women explore their dreams and gain access to the tools necessary to express themselves openly in the world.

Guidelines of the Competition:

  • This competition is open to all college students irrespective of branch, year, or field of study
  • Your submission will be evaluated by the corporate Mentors of HUL, Britannia, & P&G
  • A student cannot be part of more than one team
  • Modification of the team composition or team details after registration are not allowed
  • Any deviation from the above will result in immediate disqualification of the entire team
  • All decisions regarding eligibility and final judgment shall rest with the organizing team
  • A team can have a maximum of 3 members (1 to 3 Members)
  • Working corporate professionals can also participate and make their team with any students or working folks
  • Incoming MBA, BBA, and Eng batch students can also participate in this case competition

Round 1: Marketing Bootcamp (8hrs)

Note: Only the first 280 teams will get access to the Marketing Bootcamp and a Separate participation certificate will also be issued to all the attendees

In this round, all the registered teams will be divided into small cohorts, and corporate mentors from top firms like Britannia, Deloitte, EY, Paytm & P&G, etc. will conduct detailed extensive industry-oriented workshops with the teams to groom them better on important Marketing concepts

Sales & Marketing: Detailed Overview (1.5 hr)

  • What is Sales & Marketing?
  • How to build a Marketing profile & attitude?
  • Different types of Marketing profiles & roles
  • Expectations of the companies for each role
  • How to prepare & fulfill companies' expectations
  • Career trajectory in Marketing domain/roles
  • Do's & Don't to Become a Successful Marketer

Basics of Marketing: Important Frameworks (1.5hr)

  • 3 C's, 4 P's, Porter Five Forces Analysis, PESTEL & Company Analysis, Value
    Chain Analysis, BCG Matrix, Ansoff Matrix, etc.

Market Research & Consumer Behaviour Analysis (1.5 hr)

  • Market Research Introduction
  • Different Approaches to Market Research
  • Stepwise Step Execution of Market Research
  • Data collection techniques & Tools for effective research
  • Qualitative & Quantitative approaches & analysis
  • Questionnaire designing & data analysis

Product & Brand Management  (2 hr)

  • What is Product strategy?
  • Why it’s critical to have a product strategy?
  • How to create Product Strategies for a company?
  • How many product strategies vary for different organizations?
  • How to define the TAM for the product?
  • How to define and understand the Market?
  • How to choose the most appropriate routes to market?
  • How to perform Competitor Analysis? 

Placement Mentorship  (1.5 hr)

  • CV Building Mentorship
  • How to Build Your Profile?
  • How to answer resume-based (HR Round) interview questions?
  • How to answer the technical round of interview questions?

Round 2: Case Study Launch

  • Introduction of the Case: Problem Statement
  • Teams will be given a case problem to tackle a problem mentioned in the case study
  • Teams will be asked to solve the problem and use all the theories mentors will be teaching in the live sessions of Round 1
  • The problem will revolve around any of the including market acquisition, penetration, brand creation, campaign designing, GTMs, 
  • Teams are required to work on the implementable solution for the given problem statement

Round 3: Live Case Study Round

  • A live case presentation in front of the jury members will be conducted
  • The presentation would last 15 minutes in total, followed by a 5-minute team-specific Q&A session
  • This round will be conducted on Zoom

Note: Factors to consider while working on the solution/Case analysis

  • Ease of Implementation
  • The viability of the recommendations
  • Comprehension of the problem statement
  • Capacity for unconventional thinking
  • Research done 

Awards & Recognitions:

  • The top 3 teams will be given a chance to work on the live projects with the mentors of HUL, Colgate, and Patanjali in the core marketing domains,
  • The best 4-6 teams will be provided live projects to work with the mentors of Airtel
  • The top 9-15 teams will receive real-world marketing projects from Start-ups
  • The top 3 teams will receive cash awards of INR 12,000, while the top 4-8 teams will receive INR 8,000 in cash awards
  • Merit certificates and excellence certificates will be awarded to the top 20 teams
  • Verified CV pointers and a Separate certificate to attend the 8 hrs marketing Bootcamp certificate will be issued to all the attendees
