Quiz Challenge!!

The first round will be an online quiz on Unstop.

  • Objective: This will be a qualifying round, where participants will answer a set of aptitude and business-entrepreneurship-related questions.
  • Knowledge Areas: Topics include logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, market trends, business models, and famous entrepreneurs.
  • Elimination: Only the top 25 teams will advance to the next round.

The second round will be held in College campus (Shivaji College) Numbers and Negotiations aren’t enough- this round will push you to think, act and outplay the competition in a way you never expected. The Top 10 teams from Round 2 will advance to the Final Round

Bid and Conquer!

This is the final and the most interesting round as it’ll test your thinking ability, adaptability and the luck factor. Top 10 teams will participate in the auction round.The team with the highest capitalization wins!

All that you need to know about Neelami: The Business Auction

The Entreprenuership Cell of Shivaji College proudly presents Neelami - The Business Auction, a thrilling test of strategy, negotiation and business acumen. 

Rules & Regulations:

To ensure fair competition and an engaging experience, all participants must follow these rules:

  • Participation Format: Participants can compete in a team of 2-3 members.
  • Competition Rounds: The event consists of Three rounds, with first and second round being elimination rounds.
  • Fixed Purse Value: All teams will receive an equal amount of virtual currency to place their bids. Managing this budget wisely will be crucial for success.
  • Modifications: If any sudden modifications will be made by the organising team, it would be priorly informed to the participants.
  • Final Decision: The decision of the organising team would be final and binding.

Company Composition:

  • A total of 50 companies will be listed for the auction.
  • The companies will be categorized into three tiers: Silver, Gold, Platinum
  • Each company will have only one opportunity to bid on.
  • If a company goes unsold, it will not be reintroduced in the auction

Competition Format:

Round 1: Quiz Round

The first round will be an online quiz on Unstop.

  • Objective: This will be a qualifying round, where participants will answer a set of aptitude and business-entrepreneurship-related questions.
  • Knowledge Areas: Topics include logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, market trends, business models, and famous entrepreneurs.
  • Elimination: Only the top 25 teams will advance to the next round.

Round 2: Surprise Round

The second round will be held in the College campus (Shivaji College).

  • Numbers and Negotiations aren’t enough- Round 2 will push you to think, act and outplay the competition in a way you never expected.
  • The Top 10 teams from Round 2 will advance to the Final Round (round -3).

Round 3: Bid and Conquer

This is the final and the most interesting round as it’ll test your thinking ability, adaptability and the luck factor.

  • Top 10 teams will participate in the auction round.
  • Each team gets a set budget to bid on 50 companies.
  • Trump Cards will affect company profits, examples for the trump cards are as follows:
    • Positive Trump Card: Company XYZ's profits rise by up to 10%.
    • Negative Trump Card: Company ABC faces regulatory issues, so its profits fall by up to 20%.
  • After the auction, teams will face business scenarios that impact their companies and similarly in a positive and a negative way
    • Example of Positive Scenario: The demand for company XYZ’s products increases by 20%,
    • Example of Negative Scenario The government imposes a 50% sanction due to relations with enemy countries.
  • Leftover funds can be used to upgrade Trump Cards for better results.
  • Team valuation will be done based on the performance of their acquired companies (after adjustments for Trump Cards and situations).
  • The team with the highest capitalization wins.
