All that you need to know about Plinth's MUN '26
Plinth's MUN '26 at LNMIIT Jaipur:
- LNMIIT Jaipur is delighted to host the Plinth MUN '26 as a part of Plinth 2026.
- This event is going to provide you with an opportunity to interact and debate on internationally pressing issues as delegates representing the national interests of various countries.
- While playing their roles as ambassadors, student “delegates” make speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with allies and adversaries, resolve conflicts, and navigate the MUN conference rules of procedure – all in the interest of mobilizing international cooperation to resolve problems that affect the whole wide world.
Committees:
UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council)
Focus: The Human Rights Council stands guard over the conscience of the international system. Tasked with promoting and protecting human rights worldwide, it addresses violations wherever they occur and gives voice to those silenced by power. Through resolutions, investigations, and special procedures, the Council presses states toward accountability, equity, and dignity—asserting that sovereignty never outranks humanity.
UNGA (United Nations General Assembly)
Focus: The General Assembly stands as the democratic conscience of the United Nations. With equal representation from every Member State, it serves as the primary forum for deliberation on international issues spanning peace, development, human rights, and international law. While its resolutions are non-binding, they carry immense moral and political weight, shaping global consensus and guiding international norms.
AIPPM (All India Political Parties Meet)
Focus: AIPPM simulates the crucible of Indian parliamentary politics. Representatives of major political parties debate pressing national concerns—ranging from internal security and economic reforms to social justice and constitutional questions. Marked by intense negotiation, ideological clashes, and coalition-building, this committee mirrors the raw, unscripted reality of Indian democracy.
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)
Focus: UNESCO works at the intersection of education, culture, science, and communication to build peace in the minds of people. This committee addresses issues such as preservation of world heritage, promotion of quality education, protection of cultural diversity, ethical use of science and technology, and safeguarding freedom of expression. Delegates balance sovereignty with shared human legacy, crafting policies that protect both history and the future.
IP (International Press)
Role: The International Press is the voice, mirror, and watchdog of the conference. Journalists observe committee proceedings, conduct interviews, publish articles, and shape public narratives around debates and decisions. With no vote but immense influence, the IP holds delegates accountable, amplifies critical moments, and ensures transparency—reminding every committee that diplomacy unfolds not just behind closed doors, but under the gaze of the world.
