All that you need to know about Poster Making Competition (April)
Empowering youth to engage in civic issues and creating avenues for their increased political
participation is essential for a strong and sustainable democracy. Civil20 (C20), under India’s
G20 Presidency, provides a platform for youth voices on how they and their peers can be
motivated to involve themselves in governance and democracy at all levels from personal
engagement at the grassroots to holding offices of accountability.
As part of the C20 Youth Voices campaign, a poster competition is being conducted, details
of which are as follows:
Eligibility & Rules:
- Any youth between the ages of 15 and 29 years
- Each participant can submit only one poster per theme - as an individual submission
- Participation is valid if poster is not submitted by their University / Institution under the Campus 20 track (Track B).
Themes for the Poster:
- Inclusive Democracy: How can we involve the marginalized in democracy and
governance - Increasing Political Participation of Youth: Barriers/ Solutions
Last date of submission: April 30th 2023
Judging Criteria:
Posters will be judged based on creativity/novelty of the idea or solution (50%), aesthetic elements of presentation (30%), and relevance to the theme (20%).
General Instructions:
- Don't clutter your poster: The themes are broad and allow participants to leverage
their creativity, but participants are requested to focus their poster on any one specific
message under the broad theme, which they would like to convey through the poster. - Participant’s name should be mentioned clearly at the bottom right corner of the
poster. - Participants can make the poster with handmade art or digital art or a combination of
the two. - Inappropriate or offensive language and images will automatically disqualify the
submission. The poster should be solution-oriented. - All content must be original. No trademarked images, logos, or copyrighted images
may be used. - Poster size: A3 (11.7” x 16.5”) with 0.5” margins on all sides drawn with a black
pen/ marker. - Digital art should be in jpeg format with 300 DPI (Dots per inch) or a print resolution
of 3508 pixels x 4961 pixels. - All mediums (pencil, sketch pens, watercolours, crayons, oil paint, etc.) can be used
for handmade art) and a variety of textures may be used for digital art. - Infographics are allowed.
- Any photo-editing program may be used for digital art.
- Each artwork must be submitted along with a short description of the idea presented.
Format of the PDF should be as follows:
- Page 1: Name of Artist, Age, Email address, Phone Number, Institution, Course Name,
Theme, Title of the poster, Short description - Page 2: Poster
- The poster should also be uploaded on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn after

Top 20
The 20 best posters across all themes will be published in the form of a Coffee Table Book by the G20-C20-Democracy Working Group and each poster creator will get a special citation (certificate) by the Secretariat of Delivering Democracy Working Group.
Top 20
The 20 best posters across all themes would be rewarded with a Certificate and a memento (possibly in the final event of C20).
