Precipice 2026 - International Case Competition: Stages and Timelines

Prelim 1 - Submission Round

Teams will receive a case problem for preliminary analysis in End of January. They will have a submission window of 4–5 days from the date of case release, and the round will be conducted entirely online. Based on the quality of analysis and recommendations, top-performing teams will be shortlisted to advance to Round 2.

Round 2 - Online Presentation Round

Shortlisted teams will submit an advanced case analysis along with a presentation. This round is tentatively scheduled for early February and will be conducted online, either live or through recorded presentations, as specified. Based on their performance, top teams will qualify for the final round.

Finale Round - Offline Presentation

The final round is tentatively scheduled for End-February and will be held in Bangalore. Qualified teams will present their solutions through a live case presentation before a panel of judges. Evaluation will focus on problem understanding, strategic depth, feasibility of solutions, and overall presentation quality.

Event Overview:

  • Precipice 2026: The Case Competition is an International-level case competition conducted as a part of Precipice 2026, organised by the Center for Management Studies, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). The competition brings together undergraduate and postgraduate management students from across India and abroad to solve complex, real-world business challenges.
  • Structured across three progressive stages, the competition evaluates participants on analytical depth, strategic thinking, and practical feasibility, while providing a high-impact platform for learning, competition, and professional exposure.

Objective of the Event:

  • To foster advanced case-solving and decision-making capabilities among management students.
  • To provide a competitive platform for analysing and proposing structured solutions to real-world business problems.
  • To encourage inter-institutional participation at a national and international level.
  • To identify and reward teams demonstrating strong analytical rigour, strategic clarity, and presentation excellence.

Eligibility:

  • Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from in-station, out-station, and international institutions.
  • Team size: Minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 members (applicable to the Case Competition).
  • Registrations will be conducted exclusively through Unstop.
  • Teams must complete registration within the specified deadline to be eligible.

Event Structure:

Round 1 – Online Case Screening:

  • Teams will receive a case problem for preliminary analysis.
  • Tentative case release: End of January
  • Submission window: 4-5 days from case release
  • Mode: Online 
  • Top-performing teams will be shortlisted for Round 2.

Round 2 – Online Presentation / Advanced Case Analysis:
