Propel Pitchfest23: Stages and Timelines
Qualifier Round
In this round the team needs to submit the application with the required data and upload applicable files for ex Pitch deck ( Include Problem Statement, Solution, Opportunity Size, Traction Information, Funding till Date, Team Details), including and not limited to an Elevator Pitch video not exceeding 3 minutes, talking about the start-up, co-founders and anything related to the start-up.
Semi-Final
This round would be conducted Live in-person or on an Online Platform or a combination of both by the organizers. The shortlisted teams for the round would be informed individually with complete details through email. The shortlisted teams from the qualifiers will have to go for a 5-minute Live Pitch to a panel followed by a Q&A session.
Masterclasses and Bootcamp
To provide the relevant inputs and mentoring to assist the young startups in their ventures, series of Masterclasses covering areas of Valuations, Legal Readiness and Funding will be conducted. A bootcamp for the participating startups would be held to help them develop their idea further.
Investor Clinic
As part of Investor Clinic the startups would be provided with the opportunity to have individual sessions with angel investors. The potential incubates for ACIC BMU | Propel would be identified from these sessions.
Grand Finale:
This round would be conducted Live in-person/ Online Platform by the organizers. The shortlisted teams for the round would be informed individually with complete details through email. The teams selected for the finals will have to go for a 5-minute Live Pitch to a panel followed by a Q&A session.

About ACIC-BMU | Propel:
ACIC-BMU Foundation (ACIC-BMU) is set up by BML Munjal University (BMU) along with the support of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog to promote and support innovation and entrepreneurship. It focuses on encouraging innovators within the university and the community around the university.
Vision:
Create an ecosystem to nurture ‘Entrepreneurs’ who are innovative, tenacious, ethical, and have a great zeal to create economic value and societal impact through their ventures.
Mission:
Conduct programs, courses, events, challenges, and other engagements to ignite the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, faculty, and the community. Build a network with entrepreneurs, mentors, experts, and service providers to be leveraged for the benefit of budding start-ups. Drive active engagement of industry in the innovation activities.
About Propel Pitchfest23
Pitchfest23 is a platform provided by ACIC-BMU|Propel at BML Munjal University to encourage new ideas, innovations and young start-ups. It would provide ∞pportunity to the budding entrepreneurs to present and showcase their idea to the world and get a chance to get funding and other benefits to Propel forward their venture.
Highlights of Pitchfest 23:
- Pitching for investor funding. The applicants would have the opportunity to seek funding from the set of investors (Angel & VC) who collectively have the appetite to invest USD 1 Million (INR 8+ cr). Besides funding from investors, applicant startups stand to get various benefits from the multiple eco-system enablers that would help the startups to grow.
- Panel discussions with Thought Leaders in StartUp ecosystem.
- Masterclass/Bootcamp sessions.
- Individual networking with investors and legal experts.
Start-ups for this pitching event will be categorized under 2 Tracks:
- Pre-Revenue Based (Those startups which are yet to launch or have early revenue less than INR 25 Lakhs (ARR))
- Revenue Based (Startup with minimum revenue of INR 25 Lakhs (ARR))
Focus Areas
The focus areas for both tracks include:
- Women Founded startups (at least one-woman founder with at least 25% equity)
- Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) startups
- Deep Tech startups
- Sustainability and Social Impact startups
- Mobility startups
(Startups not falling in the above focus areas are also eligible to participate in the contest.)
Eligibility
- Start-up Founders/ Co-Founders must be present for pitching.
- Startups should not be older than 5 years.
- Current students/alumni of BML Munjal University (BMU) and startups being incubated at ACIC-BMU | Propel are eligible to participate.
- ACIC - BMU | Propel and BMU employees are not eligible to participate in this contest.
- The participants can be either (a) an individual; or (b) teams of up to 5 (five) participants provided that each member of the team meets these eligibility criteria.
The Benefit Basket:
The investment chest of up to USD 1 Mn collectively from Lead Angels, Indian Angel Network, Real Time Angel Fund, 100X.VC, Jito Incubation and Innovation Foundation, Campus Fund, ah! Ventures Fund, and Agility Ventures.
The investors can individually or collectively decide to invest in a startup. The final investment decision would be based on mutual agreement between the investor(s) and startup on the ‘Term Sheet’.
The finalists will not only have the opportunity to seek funding from the investors, but also get the following (As per applicable terms and conditions):
- Invite to join the incubation support from ACIC-BMU | Propel.
- One-year complimentary membership to TIE Delhi NCR.
- AWS Credits worth USD 10,000 per startup.
- ZOHO credits upto INR 1.86 Lakhs.
- Mentoring by Power2SME.
- Legal Services package from Samvad Partners.
- 3 months complimentary co-working space from The Office Pass

Best Pitch Presentation Award
The finalists in each Track will be presented to the group of persons / subject matter experts (“Jury”) for determination of Winner/s. Jury’s decision is final and binding on all participants. The Jury will score and/or rank each nominee based on pre-defined evaluation criteria and the final scores by the Jury will be collated and tabulated to determine the winners based on the weightage determined by the Organizer. The Organizer reserves the right to enter a wild card nomination under any of the tracks at its discretion.
