Rules and Regulations

Team Composition

• Teams: 3-5 members
• Drivers: Max 2 drivers per race; one member as pit crew

Race Timing and Penalties

• Timed race: with 5-second penalties for skipping obstacles or missing jumps

Pit Stops

• One pit stop: allowed for minor adjustments or battery replacement

Restarts

• One restart: permitted for major technical issues within the first 10 seconds

Fair Play

• Unsportsmanlike behavior: or obstruction will lead to disqualification

Track Offense

• Penalties: for moving off-track (over 1 meter) or missing obstacles

Qualifying Rounds

• Multiple qualifying rounds: possible; minimum of 2 teams qualify each round, based on completion within 5 minutes

Event Format

Elimination Round

• Teams race: individually against the clock; the 16 fastest qualify for the knockout stage.

Knockout Round

• Teams race: head-to-head; winners advance in a single-elimination format until two teams remain.

Final Race

• Determines: the top three positions based on speed, strategy, and control.

Race Time

• Teams ranked: by total race time.
• Each penalty adds: 5 seconds to total race time.
• Fastest times after penalties advance: top three teams receive prizes.

Track Description

• The race takes place: on a 100-meter off-road dirt track, simulating real-life off-road racing challenges.
• Features:
  • Hurdles: Small to medium barriers to climb over or navigate around.
  • Ramps: Three ramps to test the buggy's stability and air control; teams must balance height and speed.
  • Pebble Zones: Sections covered in small rocks to assess suspension and tire grip.
  • Sharp Turns and Curves: Multiple sharp turns (up to 90 degrees) requiring precise steering and control.
• The track deteriorates: as the race progresses, challenging buggies on weakened surfaces. Teams complete three laps, with each lap ending at the start-finish line. The competition follows a knockout format, with head-to-head races to advance.

Technical Specifications:

Weight of the RC Buggy shoule be in between 3.3 kgs to 3.6 kgs at maximum.

Power Source

• Li-Po batteries: (3S or 4S); teams must provide their own batteries.

Drive Mechanism

• 2WD, 4WD: or other battery-powered systems allowed.

Tires

• Off-road rubber tires: are mandatory; tread cutting or modification is permitted.

Radio System

• Limited to two channels: (steering and throttle) using a 2.4 GHz DSM/DSS system or any frequency.

Brake System

• A functioning brake system: is required to stop and hold the vehicle stationary while the motor runs.

Safety

• A safety mechanism: must be installed to stop the motor in case of loss of control; teams must demonstrate this before the race.

Judging Criteria

• Speed: Time to complete the course.
• Handling: Smooth navigation through obstacles.
• Durability: Buggy’s ability to withstand the entire race without significant damage.

Submission of Abstract

Deadline

• 3^rd November 2024, 11:59 PM

Teams must submit:

• A portfolio of their buggy, including detailed specifications and a video showcasing the working model. This portfolio will be used to seed teams for the competition, and only shortlisted teams will be eligible to participate.

Video Requirements

• Minimum length: 1 minute
• Must include an unedited clip: of the buggy’s performance.
