The liar game: Stages and Timelines
Round 1
This game consists of several rounds of voting which are held at regular intervals of every 5 minutes.
Round 2
The four contestants or 'towers' begin the game with an equal, predetermined amount of hit points, which shall be decided based on time constraints.
Round 3
This is a multi-round card game played by six people. In each round, players are handed out cards randomly and an opening card is laid out openly.
All that you need to know about The liar game
1. A question is posed to the voters every round, whose answer is binary i.e either yes or no. This question is put forward by a randomly chosen contestant who is changed every round.
2. After listening to the question, people have the next four minutes to vote and are free to talk, discuss and strategize with the others. NOTE: The answer need not be factually correct; every contestant is expected to answer in a way which he believes will win him the round.
3. At the end of every round, the votes are checked, and all those who have chosen the option which fewer contestants have selected go through to the next round.
4. There's a point system in place which awards the participants with points proportionate to the number of rounds that they lasted.
This game will be followed by 3 games running parallelly and independently. People are allotted to these games by the means of a lottery.
The first of these is called Restricted Blackjack. There will be multiple batches of 3 people playing the game simultaneously. The objective of the game is to reach a sum of 21 but not exceed it. Each player will be given 2 cards to begin with. The player places down a card and the next in line follows suit till the sum of the cards reaches near to 21. If the value of the card that you place in your turn is such that the total exceeds 21, you lose the round. The player, if unable to play, draws a card from the deck which he can play in the same turn if he wants. The maximum amount of cards a person can keep in his hand is 4. The Ace cards are treated as either 1 or 10, depending on the players will, and the rest of the cards are as denoted by their face value. The dealer will not be participating in this except for dealing the cards, and to add a twist, there will be extra cards which will have the value of 0, allowing the user to steal someone else's win.
The second game is called the Mindfuck Card game. A group of 5-6 people is required to play this game. 3 cards will be dealt to each person, they have to memorize their cards and put them faced down in front of them in whichever order they want. The goal of the game is to turn the sum of their 3 cards to be as least as possible. There are some special cards which can be used such as #7, which can be used to shuffle any players' cards without looking at them, Queen can be used to swap one of your cards with other players', King can be used to check your cards and Joker can be used to check others' cards. The game ends when the cards of the deck are completed and whoever has the least sum, wins the round. Ace is counted as 1 and rest all cards have normal values.
The third game is a variation of Uno. It's a mixture of the variants of Uno with a "river" and the one in which the cards are dealt facing up. It's called River Uno. All standard rules of Uno are applicable with the additional ones being that the cards are dealt facing up initially and are then folded. Players can memorize the other players' cards during the initial stage. Other than this, 4 cards (always facing up) are placed beside the discard pile. These cards are basically everyone's cards (common cards). A player may play a card from these cards except when a player is left with only 1 card. When a card from this "river" is played, it needs to be replaced with a card from the player's hand.
The aforementioned 3 games have a point stealing system to give a fair opportunity to the last guy to topple the first one. There's also a round of "Voting Rock Paper Scissors" wherein any player can challenge the organizers for certain specified incentives and penalties for losing.
These games are followed by what is known as the Pandemic Game. This will be the final round of screening to decide the semifinalists. At the beginning of the game, 2 people out of 10 are chosen randomly as 'zombies'.Nobody knows what roles the others have been assigned. The aim of the zombies is to convert all the humans into zombies. A handshake counts as making contact. Whenever 2 humans make contact, they both gain one vaccine each (but only if the contact hasn't been made before). Humans start off with zero vaccines. If a zombie makes contact with another human, the human loses a vaccine and becomes a zombie in case he didn't have any vaccine earlier. The zombie that made contact with a human possessing a vaccine, has the vaccine transferred to him and becomes a human. The catch here is that the zombie may not decide to use the transferred vaccine and choose to stay a zombie.
At the end, in case the humans win, whoever has the highest number of vaccines leads the points table and others follow suit. In the instance that the zombies win, it's just the 2 zombies that win. The others are chosen as per the points accumulated until before the game. Throughout the game, the players will be given only three chances (for the whole group), overall, to check their status (number of vaccines, whether infected or not etc.). Only the person who checks his status is informed.
Now we select 12 semifinalists that proceed to play Tower Game. Via the means of this game, we plan to select 6 finalists. Each game is a deathmatch between a group of four people in which we have a single winner.
1. The four contestants or 'towers' begin the game with an equal, predetermined amount of hit points, which shall be decided based on time constraints.
2. Sets of three rounds (i.e three rounds in quick succession of 30 seconds per round) will be held every 5 minutes where each contestant can either attack, defend, both or choose to stay idle in each round.
3. Each round, a tower can choose to attack between 0 and 3 opponents and defend against 0 to 3 opponents, for a maximum of 3 actions per round.
4. Every action costs 1 hit point.
5. If an attack is not defended against, then the receiver loses 3 hit points.
6. Again, all the contestants are allowed, as well as expected, to speak to each other and collaborate with/betray each other
This will be followed by our final game, "Maou".
- This is a multi-round card game played by six people.
- In each round, players are handed out cards randomly and an opening card is laid out openly.
- Similar to UNO, players begin and lay down cards which are similar to the previously laid down cards by having the same number, or suit.
- A round is over when a player is able to use up all the cards in his hand.
- At the end of every round, the winner gets to impose a random rule (chosen from a list of prewritten rules) over the whole group which shall apply over the rest of the rounds played.
- The new rule imposed may be contradictory to some already existing rule and is given priority over those in existence.
- The rule, however, is not told to the other players who have the task of guessing it by trial and error.
- Every time a rule (either pre-existing or new) is violated, the violator must take 2 cards into his deck as a penalty.
- Finally, whoever wins maximum rounds wins.
