Overview: Welcome to our new marketing competition! This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your marketing skills and creativity. You will be given a case and must create a brand book that properly justifies various marketing elements. The case will provide essential information about the product, target market, and business goals.

Instructions:

  • Tip: Make your brand book visually appealing and not simply text-heavy. For inspiration, you may refer to the one-pager case competition submission templates and/or brand book templates. You may use design and editing software like Canva, Adobe, etc. Include elements, graphics, show the color palette, etc. Be Creative, be a True Marketer!
  • Brand Book Requirements: Participants must create a brand book that can cover but isn’t limited to the following elements:
  • Brand Name & Tagline: Propose a suitable brand name and a catchy tagline.
  • Target Audience: Define the primary and secondary target audience with demographic and psychographic details.
  • Brand Positioning: Develop a positioning statement articulating the brand’s unique value proposition.
  • Brand Personality: Describe the brand's personality traits as if it were a person.
  • Visual Identity: Suggest color schemes, fonts, and visual elements aligning with the brand's personality.
  • Marketing Channels: Identify the key marketing channels (online and offline) that will be used to reach the target audience.
  • Key Messages: Outline the main messages that the brand wants to communicate.
  • Competitive Analysis: Briefly analyze the competitive landscape and how the brand will differentiate itself.
  • Brand Voice and Tone: Define the tone and style of communication the brand will use across various channels.
  • Static Post for Social Media: Design a sample static post for social media, showcasing how the brand would engage with its audience visually and textually.
  • Deliverable: The brand book must be presented in a 1-page A4 size PDF document. Ensure that your document is clear, concise, and visually appealing.
  • Justification and Assumptions: For each element, provide a brief justification for your choices. If any assumptions are made, state them clearly.

Case Summary: 

The beauty industry is evolving rapidly, driven by trends like minimalist skincare, personalized beauty, and tech-driven innovations. Consumers today seek high-performance products that cater to their unique needs while embracing inclusivity, convenience, and science-backed formulations. However, with countless brands flooding the market, standing out requires a strong identity and a compelling brand story.

Introducing Sahana – a beauty brand that blends advanced formulations with modern beauty trends to create products that are effective, versatile, and tailored to individual preferences. The challenge is to position Sahana as a go-to brand for trend-savvy consumers while ensuring it remains aspirational yet accessible.

Participants must craft a marketing strategy that defines Sahana’s mission, target audience, and brand positioning. The brand book should propose innovative campaigns, leverage influencer marketing and digital engagement, and highlight storytelling techniques to establish Sahana as a leader in the ever-evolving beauty landscape.

  • Format: Your submission must be in a 1-page A4 size PDF format.

  • Clarity: Clear and concise presentation of ideas.
  • Relevance: Appropriateness and alignment with the case.
  • Justification: Logical reasoning and justification for each element.
  • Visual Appeal: Aesthetically pleasing and professional presentation.
