Torquest

Objective:

This event is a quiz focused on testing participants' knowledge and interest in pure astronomy, cosmic studies, and related fields. Participants with a strong background and enthusiasm for astronomy will have an advantage. Students from physics and astronomy streams are especially encouraged to participate.

Structure:

• Round 1: Written Elimination Round with multiple-choice questions.
• Round 2: The top 6 teams from Round 1 will compete in the Final Round with various types and formats of questions. Details of the final round will be revealed on the spot.

Rules:

1. The quiz master’s decision will be final and binding.
2. The use of any electronic media is strictly prohibited. Teams found violating this rule will be disqualified on the spot.
3. Participants must bring their registration receipts and valid college IDs.
4. Rules may be updated without prior notice. Participants should check the official Mind Spark’24 website (www.mind-spark.org) for updates.
5. The organizers' and judges' decisions will be final in case of disputes.

Elimination Criteria:

• Round 1: Top 6 teams will advance to Round 2.
• Round 2: 3 winners will be selected from the top 6 teams.

Team Size:

• Maximum 2 participants per team.

• • A: Yes, a team with one participant (lone-wolf) is allowed.
• Q: Who can participate in the quiz?
  • A: Any college (UG) student. Valid ID card and registration receipt are required. Note: The degree course should be from a certified institute, excluding CA, other professional courses, and open universities.
• Q: Can I register on the spot?
  • A: Yes, on-spot registration is allowed but may be limited. It’s recommended to register beforehand.
• Q: I don’t have a partner. Can I still attend the quiz?
  • A: Yes, you can attend as a lone-wolf and potentially find a partner on the spot.
• Q: Are cross-college teams allowed?
  • A: Yes, cross-college teams are allowed. However, one participant cannot be part of multiple teams for the same event.
• Q: Can the team structure be changed after the elimination?
  • A: No, team structure changes are not allowed after elimination. The same two participants must compete in the final round.
