Typing Test

Event Overview:

The Typing Test Competition challenges participants to showcase their typing speed and accuracy. The fastest and most precise typists will be crowned winners!

The Competition will be held on the college campus (Offline).

Competition Rules:

• Eligibility:
  • Open to all students with a valid college ID.
  • Individual participation only (no teams).
• Competition Format:
  • The event will have two rounds:
    • Preliminary Round: All participants will compete, and top performers will advance.
    • Final Round: The top scorers from the prelims will compete for the winner’s title.
  • Participants must type a given passage on standard typing test software (to be announced).
• Typing Rules:
  • The time limit for each round will be 1 to 5 minutes (depending on round level).
  • The passage will be displayed on-screen; copy-pasting is not allowed.
  • Only standard QWERTY keyboards are permitted (no custom macros, key remapping, or auto-complete tools).
  • Mistyped words will be counted as errors, affecting the accuracy score.
• Scoring Criteria:
  • Typing Speed (WPM - Words Per Minute): Measured as the total number of correctly typed words per minute.
  • Accuracy (%): Errors (incorrectly typed words) will lead to a deduction in the final score.

  • In case of a tie, an extra round will be conducted between the tied participants.
• Disqualification & Fair Play:
  • Any use of auto-typing software, predictive text tools, or cheating will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Participants must not refresh or restart the test once started.
  • Judges’ decisions will be final and binding.

Administrators reserve the right to change/add/remove any of the above rules in case of any ambiguity.

A team should be from the same college. No one can participate mixed college students.
