UXplorer: Stages and Timelines

Round 1: Logo Design Submission via Unstop

In Round 1 (Online) of UXplorer, participants are challenged to showcase their design prowess through two tasks: 

  • Logo Design: Participants must craft a logo based on themes provided by the organizers. The focus is on enhancing brand recognition and conveying a versatile essence that resonates with the audience. 
  • Instagram Post Design: Design captivating Instagram posts that tell compelling stories about the given themes, ensuring visual appeal and high engagement.

Offline Round

Round 2: Offline Round at IIITN Campus In the second round of UXplorer, selected teams advance to showcase their UI/UX expertise on stage. Designers face a dynamic challenge, receiving on-the-spot company details and tasked with crafting a comprehensive UI/UX design within a tight 12-hour timeframe. This real-time challenge mirrors industry pace, testing adaptability and quick thinking. Teams delve into provided company details, applying expertise to create visually appealing, user-friendly interfaces that align with the company's identity. Following design completion, teams craft PowerPoint presentations to articulate their choices and solutions, culminating in onstage presentations. This round evaluates technical skill, communication ability, and performance under pressure, making it a thrilling and pivotal phase of the UXplorer event.

  • UXplorer, part of E-Summit 2024, is an exciting event that beckons designers from across the nation to elevate the digital presence of a leading online platform through innovative, user-centric design. In an era where digital interactions shape consumer perceptions and behaviors, this event underscores the critical role of UI/UX design in navigating the digital landscape.
  • Through a combination of online preliminaries and offline finals, UXplorer provides a platform for designers to showcase their talent and creativity in crafting seamless interfaces and delightful user experiences.
  • Participants will delve into the intricacies of user journeys, reimagining pathways to drive engagement and elevate brand perception. Moreover, this event serves as a testament to the ever-evolving nature of design in meeting the evolving needs and expectations of users in the digital realm.

Stages:

Round 1: Logo Design Submission via Unstop

  • In Round 1 (Online) of UXplorer, participants are challenged to showcase their design prowess through two tasks.

Round 2: Offline Round at IIIT-N Campus

  • In the second round of UXplorer, selected teams advance to showcase their UI/UX expertise on stage. Designers face a dynamic challenge, receiving on-the-spot company details and being tasked with crafting a comprehensive UI/UX design within a tight 12-hour timeframe. This real-time challenge mirrors the industry pace, testing adaptability, and quick thinking.
  • Teams delve into provided company details, applying expertise to create visually appealing, user-friendly interfaces that align with the company's identity. Following design completion, teams craft PowerPoint presentations to articulate their choices and solutions, culminating in onstage presentations. Guidelines: Round 1

  • Participation is open to teams with a maximum of 4 members per team. Each participant must register following the guidelines provided by the organizers.
  • Participants must complete three tasks within the specified timeframe. These tasks include Logo Design and Instagram Post Design, each contributing to the overall assessment.
  • All designs must adhere to the themes provided by the organizers for each task. Deviation from the assigned themes may result in disqualification.
  • Participants must ensure that all designs submitted are original and created solely by themselves or their team members during the competition period. Plagiarism or unauthorized use of copyrighted material is strictly prohibited.
  • Submission Guidelines: Designs must be submitted in the png/jpeg format.
  • Judging Criteria: Designs will be evaluated based on creativity, alignment with the given themes, visual appeal, and potential for high engagement on digital platforms like Instagram. 

Guidelines: Round 2

  • Team Advancement: Only the selected teams from Round 1 are eligible to advance to Round 2 based on their performance and evaluation by the judging panel
  • Task Description: In Round 2, selected teams are tasked with developing a comprehensive UI/UX design based on on-the-spot company details provided by the organizers
  • Time Constraints: Teams must complete the design challenge within a strict time frame of 12 hours. Late submissions will not be accepted
  • 12 hours will be given to the Design phase
  • 10-minute time will be provided for presentation & demo followed by 5-minute Q&A
  • Design Criteria: Designs must be visually appealing, user-friendly, and aligned with the provided company details, reflecting the company's identity, values, and objectives
  • Presentation Requirement: Following the design phase, teams are required to prepare a PowerPoint presentation that effectively communicates their design choices, solutions, and rationale
  • Onstage Presentation: Teams present their designs onstage to the judging panel and audience, demonstrating their thought process, creativity, and ability to communicate effectively under pressure
  • Evaluation Criteria: Teams are evaluated based on technical skill, creativity, alignment with company details, communication ability, and performance under pressure

General Rules: 

  • Plagiarism or any form of unethical conduct is strictly prohibited. All designs must be original and created solely by the participating teams during the competition timeframe.
  • Teams found violating the rules or engaging in unethical behaviour will be disqualified from the competition, and their submissions will be invalidated.
  • The organizers reserve the right to amend the rules, disqualify teams, or make any decisions necessary to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of both the Rounds.
  • All decisions made by the judging panel and organizers are final and binding, with no scope for appeal or dispute.
  • No Participant is allowed to register in more than one team.
  • No software subscription will be provided to the participants.
