WWT Unravel 2025: Stages and Timelines
Round 1: Online Quiz
Time to warm up your engines!
In this first round, you’ll race against the clock in a 30-minute MCQ quiz covering Data Science Fundamentals (machine learning, deep learning, genAI principles and statistics), SQL, and Python Basics. This is your chance to show you've got the analytical sharpness to go the distance.
Top-performing teams will move on to the next round, where the real case action begins.
You will see the "Play button" here once the round is live. Only the Team Leader will be eligible to play.
Round 2: Case Submission
This is where the challenge gets real. Shortlisted teams will receive a detailed problem statement, raw data to work with, and submission instructions. Teams will work on optimizing menu recommendations and customer segmentation for a QSR chain using transaction data, customer demographics, and seasonal trends.
You’ll need to submit the following in a single .zip file:
- Output Sheet
- Codebase with documentation
- Presentation (max 10 slides)
You will see the “Submit” button here once the round is live. The finalists will be announced via email. Please take note of the submission deadline. It will not be postponed.
Round 3: Finale at the WWT Gurgaon Office
The final stretch — live and in person. Shortlisted teams will be invited to the Finale at the WWT Gurgaon Office. This is your moment to shine not just as analysts, but as consultants, communicators, and future leaders.

Are you ready to take your data skills beyond the classroom and into the world of real business impact?
This competition is your chance to step into the shoes of a data science consultant and tackle a real-world challenge from the fast-paced world of Quick Service Restaurants. Hosted by the World Wide Technology Management Consulting team, this competition is built for curious, analytical minds with a flair for storytelling, strategy, and scalable solutions.
You’ll compete in teams to design a recommendation system that doesn’t just work, but works in the messy, unpredictable world of real data. Along the way, you’ll apply and showcase skills in:
- Data analysis & modelling
- System architecture & logic
- Business-aligned metrics
- Storytelling and presentation
This is a unique opportunity to put your data science skills to the test in a consulting-style case, judged on both technical strength and business acumen.
Tech stack:
- Python (preferably 3.11) required
- Postgres databases to use
- Visualization tools: any (Tableau, PowerBI, matplotlib, etc.)
- Cloud platforms: Google Collab to use for development
Who can participate:
Any pre-final and final year students (graduating in 2026 or 2027) with the requisite skills!
Rules
- The participating team must have 2-3 members
- A team must have a team leader
- Cross-specialization, cross-college, and cross-year teams are allowed
- A student can be a part of only one team
- Each team can submit only one entry for the competition. Only the first submissions made by teams before the deadlines will be used.
- Use AI for good, not for cheating. Deviating from this guideline will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team
- All participants should be based in India and enrolled in an Indian college
What’s at stake:
- Cash prizes totalling ₹4,00,000
- A visit to the WWT India office in Gurgaon (travel and accommodation sponsored by WWT India)*
- A chance to present your solution to WWT’s Management Consulting Team
- Potential consideration for future opportunities at WWT (eg PPI or PPO) on a case-by-case basis
