The ET Make in India - SME Regional Summit editions held in Hyderabad, Telangana; Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and Kolkata, West Bengal received an incredible response from the local MSME ecosystems and provided a distinctive opportunity for local MSMEs, policymakers, and essential ecosystem stakeholders to participate in meaningful discussions, networking activities, and valuable knowledge-sharing sessions. 

The Economic Times is proud to announce that we will be in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, as part of our aim to promote, recognise and strengthen the Indian MSME industry on August 10.

The district of Chennai has the highest number of MSMEs in Tamil Nadu, at 3,14,506. Out of this, there are 3,00,029 micro-enterprises, 12,864 small and 1,613 medium enterprises, according to the Udyam portal. The state is home to 27,42,648 MSMEs, out of which 26,78,726 are micro-enterprises, 58,669 are small and 5,253 are medium enterprises.

The ET Make in India SME Regional Summit in Chennai will focus on the state’s manufacturing and export might. It will start with a keynote address on “Doing Business in Tamil Nadu: How the Government Supports TN’s Trade and Industry”. This will be followed by a fireside chat with Rakesh Singh, CEO of Aditya Birla Fashion Limited. The event will also have a panel discussion with a discourse on “Tamil Nadu's Growth Agenda: Stronger Manufacturing, Higher Exports”. The discussion will highlight the state’s strength as a manufacturing and exporting growth engine.
