Poetry Writing Competition

Theme for the Poetry:

1. The poetry submitted by an individual could be from their own experience or someone from the community around them.
2. The theme of poetry could be around working on innovative ideas, sacrifices, going beyond the call of duty, challenges encountered and surpassing those challenges through creative ideas, searching for joy and happiness in adversity, etc…

Guidelines for Submission:

1. The poetry could be in English/ Hindi, in not more than 750 words, and should strive to be neutral and objective.
2. The poetry should be related to the theme of poetry, as mentioned above. In a nutshell, it must contain the core idea of poetry that inspires to change and spread happiness.
3. At the center of the poetry, it should reflect the real-time experience of a person or persons in context to the theme of the poetry.
4. The poetry may be written to appeal to the emotional side of the reader.
5. In addition to the written format, the same poetry could also be submitted as high-quality audio in .mp3 format.
6. While recording the audio, in case of audio submission, the individuals are required to take utmost care that it should not record any background noise to have effective representation.
7. The individuals may narrate their poetry in audio files in Hindi/English.
8. The length of the audio file should be no more than 15 minutes.
9. Poetry submitted for publication should be original and not violate any copyright law.

Guidelines for Publication:

1. All the submitted entries will be first evaluated for their relevance as per our guidelines and then published accordingly on our website within a week of submitting.
2. All the written entries will be published along with their audio file (if submitted) and the brief details about the author & their photograph.
3. All the audio files will also be edited using suitable graphics in video format to further publish them on our YouTube channel.
4. Poetry, once published, will be the property of Gyaannirudra with the due credit given to their contributors for their contribution.

Inclusion of your creations in our anniversary celebration:

As we mark our anniversary every year on Akshaya Tritiya and we celebrate it as an occasion to inspire the community for change through sharing of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and experiences. Last year, on this occasion, we had invited entries from the participants across the nation in the form of their stories of inspiration for a competitive event and the best entries were also awarded certificates and prizes.

But, from this time onwards, we are going to celebrate our anniversary in a much bigger and meaningful way. So, all the entries submitted here in form of stories, poetry, and arts will automatically become part of the competition going to be held as part of our anniversary celebration, if they follow the guidelines mentioned below:

1. To include your creation in our anniversary celebration, the participant is required to pay a registration fee of INR 99/- only.
2. An individual can include a maximum of 2 entries per registration to be a part of the competition.
3. If anyone wishes to include more than 2 entries in the competition, then they have to do a separate registration for the same.
4. Both of the entries (per registration) can be from the same category or the different categories, and they could be both stories, poetry, arts, paintings, photographs or different as well.
5. Since the submission to this website will be open for round the year, the entries submitted till 20.04.2022, 23:59 hrs will only be considered for competition as part of our anniversary celebration for the year 2022 subject to payment of registration fee.
6. All the entries submitted after 20.04.2022 will be considered for competition as part of our anniversary celebration for next year, i.e., 2023 subject to payment of registration fee and so on.
7. All the entries submitted for the competitive category will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges and the results of the winner and runner-up will be announced through a virtual event on Akshaya Tritiya, i.e., on May 3, 2022, for the 2022 anniversary celebration.
8. Winners and Runner up will be different for each category (Stories, Poems, Arts & Paintings and Photographs) and subcategories (Junior and Senior).
9. For the competitive category, the junior group would be considered for the individuals up to the age of 18 years and the senior group would be considered for all others as of May 3, 2022.
10. Winner in each category and subcategory will be awarded a certificate, trophy, medal, and cash prize of Rs. 1000/- while the runner up in each category and subcategory will be awarded a certificate, trophy, medal, and cash prize of Rs. 500/-.
11. The prizes of winners and runners-up will be delivered through postal/ courier services as per convenience.
12. All the winner and runner-up entries will also get featured on our platform in the wall of fame section.
13. All other entries in the competitive category will receive an e-certificate for their contribution to the community.
