SFM: Short Film Making

Embrace the art of filmmaking, weaving narratives that inspire, provoke, or entertain. Join us in this cinematic journey where your creativity takes center stage, crafting compelling stories, showcasing technical finesse, and leaving a lasting impact on our audience and judges with your visionary storytelling.

Guidelines:

• This is a team event
• The time limit for the film is 8 minutes
• The event will take place in one round 
• The event will be in online mode

Rules:

• The film should either be in Hindi or English or both. No other languages are permitted.
• The video may be taken with any device.
• A list of specific situations will be released on Unstop one month before the fest. At least one of these situations has to be included in the short film.
• Spring Fest shall not be responsible for any issues arising due to non-compatibility.
• Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and shall lead to disqualification. Photo animations, slide shows, remixes, spoofs, and advertisements must be avoided.
• Spring Fest reserves the right to use the video entries on social media (suitable credits will be given to the people responsible for the creation of the content).
• The use of copyrighted content is not allowed and will lead to disqualification.

• Story and Screenplay (40 points)
• Editing and Production (30 points)
• Acting and Impact (30 points)

Themes:

• A Day in an AI's Consciousness:
  
  • The short film explores the inner world of an advanced AI system gaining self-awareness. It delves into how the AI interprets human behavior, emotions, and its purpose in a world dominated by human decisions.
• The Silent Observer:
  
  • The short film follows the journey of a person who can become completely unnoticed by others, akin to invisibility. It delves into how they navigate relationships, loneliness, and their newfound freedom.
• A Loop in Time:
  
  • The protagonist discovers they are stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day repeatedly. The film explores their attempts to break free and the lessons they learn in the process.
• At the Crisis Helpline:
  
  • The short film portrays a transformative conversation between a caller in distress and a crisis helpline counselor. It highlights the caller’s struggles with grief and isolation and the empathy that helps them regain hope.
• Life Before the Internet:
  
  • This short film takes viewers back to a world without the internet. It showcases how communities thrived, how relationships were built, and how people entertained themselves in simpler times.
