ACM SemiCode: Stages and Timelines

Round 2 will transition to an offline setting, featuring questions of intermediate complexity in a span of 3 hours. Seize this opportunity to substantiate your mettle.
Participants shortlisted from round 2 to an offline round 3. The round is divided into two distinct phases. Firstly, participants will have 1.5 hours to individually tackle the questions assigned to them. Following this, there will be a 10-minute discussion period where participants can exchange ideas and strategies. Subsequently, participants will switch with their teammate, and each will spend the remaining 1.5 hours solving the set of questions assigned to their partner. This structure ensures that participants have equal opportunities for both individual problem-solving and collaborative problem-solving with their teammate, fostering a balanced and competitive environment.

SemiCode is a renowned tag-team coding contest held in Mumbai, organized by the technical body of NMIMS Mumbai, ACM MPSTME, in collaboration with institutions such as MHSSCOE. This competition serves as a platform for some of Mumbai's brightest competitive coders to showcase their skills.
The event features three distinct rounds, each presenting unique challenges and requirements, with participants working in teams of two. It aims to test problem-solving abilities, time management, and teamwork under pressure. By fostering a spirit of healthy competition, the contest encourages participants to push their boundaries and achieve excellence.
Running successfully for the past Eight years, SemiCode attracts over 350 teams annually, making it one of the most anticipated events for students and industry professionals alike. Its popularity continues to rise each year.
Guidelines:
- Eligibility: Open to all students currently enrolled in graduate programs at colleges in Mumbai.
- Registration Fee: INR 200 per team.
- Team Size: Each team must consist of two members.
- Code of Conduct: Participants are expected to uphold respect and sportsmanship throughout the event. Any form of cheating or misconduct will lead to immediate disqualification.
- Challenge Format: Teams will tackle a coding problem and must submit solutions that successfully pass all provided test cases for evaluation.
- Submission Guidelines: Details about the submission platform will be shared closer to the event.
- Judging Criteria: Solutions will be assessed based on their efficiency and quality. Advancement to subsequent rounds will be based purely on percentile rankings.
- Disqualification: Teams will be disqualified for rule violations, cheating, or plagiarism.
- Liability: The organizers and sponsors are not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during the event. Participants are responsible for their own health and safety.
The ACM MPSTME reserves the right to make final decisions on all aspects of the competition, including participant eligibility, rule interpretation, judging criteria, and prize distribution. All decisions by the organizers are final and binding.
