AlgoHeist: The Escape Room Challenge

Guidelines:

• Event Format: AlgoHeist is a live, offline, team-based escape room challenge. Teams will solve a series of programming puzzles. Correct solutions unlock physical or digital clues (like QR codes, locks), leading to the final escape.
• Eligibility: Open to students from all colleges. The event will take place at Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
• Team Composition: Mandatory Duo registration (Teams of exactly 2 members). Inter-college or inter-specialization team members are allowed. Registration opens via Luma for individuals; teams will be finalized later by the organizers.
• Number of Puzzles/Challenges: The exact number of stages/challenges will be revealed on the day of the event.
• Event Duration: The total event duration will be approximately 30 minutes. Teams compete to "escape" by solving all stages correctly in the shortest time. (Exact timing is subject to change).
• Process:
  
  • Teams check in at the venue.
  • Teams are briefed and assigned a starting point/room.
  • Teams begin solving puzzles using mobile phones. Each correct solution provides a clue to unlock the next stage.
  • The first team(s) to successfully complete all stages and "escape" win.
• Platform/Tools: Puzzles will involve basic programming logic. Teams will use their mobile phones to access puzzles, run code snippets (if needed), or find specific outputs. Physical elements like QR codes, printed clues, or lock boxes will be used. An AI system may provide hints or dynamically adjust difficulty.

Rules:

• Teams must work only with their own team members to solve puzzles.
• Use of external help (other than team members), unauthorized online resources, or pre-written code solutions during the event is strictly prohibited.
• Mobile phones are the primary tool; any other electronic devices brought may be collected at the start and returned only for limited, supervised use (e.g., contacting organizers).
• Teams must stay within the designated event area and follow organizer's instructions.
• Any attempt to tamper with physical clues, locks, or the scoring system will lead to immediate disqualification.
• The decision of the organizing team and faculty coordinators is final.
• The event organizers reserve the right to modify the rules or format before or during the event if deemed necessary.
