About the Contest:
- Objective: Design and simulate an efficient power electronic system in one of the suggested application domains using Altair PSIM.
- Scope: Apply PSIM to solve real-world power electronics and motor control challenges using simulation.
- Eligibility: Only students currently pursuing engineering are eligible. Students who have completed engineering are not eligible.
The Challenge!
Choose any one application area from the list below:
- Inverter and Rectifier Systems
- Renewable Energy Systems (Solar/Wind)
- Motor Control Systems (FOC, DTC, BLDC, PMSM)
- High-Frequency and Resonant Converters
- DC-DC and AC-DC Converter Design
Design and simulate a complete system using Altair PSIM:
- Implement relevant control techniques (e.g., MPPT, FOC, SPWM, DTC)
- Perform simulations and analyze key parameters like efficiency, THD, voltage ripple, dynamic response, etc.
- Optimize the design for real-world operating conditions (e.g., load changes, source variation, fault conditions)
How to Participate?
- Select an Application Area
- Choose any one from the listed domain areas in the challenge.
- Use Altair PSIM for Design:
- Build your system using PSIM circuit blocks, digital controllers, and analysis tools.
- Focus on performance metrics like voltage regulation, current ripple, efficiency, and transient behavior.
