Round 1: AI-Tech Quiz Showdown (Eliminator round)
Before entering the Build Wars – Speed Dev Challenge, participants must clear an eliminatory technical quiz testing their knowledge of web development, AI, JavaScript, algorithms, and problem-solving. This fast-paced online quiz will feature MCQs and coding-based questions, with a strict time limit. Only top scorers will advance to the final offline hackathon, so gear up, prove your skills, and secure your spot! Please note that, only team leader can play this round.
Offline Round - The Build Wars Begin!
The Build Wars - Speed Dev Challenge will be conducted in person at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi in-person. Participants will develop their projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Vue, or Next.js on VS Code, GitHub, and online IDEs like Replit or CodeSandbox. AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Figma AI can be used to enhance productivity. Teams will present their projects to judges, highlighting their implementation, creativity, and technical excellence. Extra points will be awarded for advanced functionalities like AI integrations, real-time features, API implementations, and complex animations. Submissions will be evaluated based on innovation, functionality, UI/UX design, and code quality.

Build Wars – Speed Dev Challenge is a high-intensity web development competition where participants must build a fully functional website within 3 hours. This challenge tests your ability to think fast, code efficiently, and innovate under pressure.
Participants are encouraged to leverage AI to the fullest—whether it’s GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Figma AI, or any other LLM-based tool—to speed up development, enhance creativity, and push boundaries in web development and automation.

Who Can Participate?
Open to students and developers passionate about web development, AI, and problem-solving. Participate solo or in teams of up to 4 members.
Judging Criteria:
- Innovation & Creativity (25%) – Originality and uniqueness of the project.
- Functionality & Responsiveness (25%) – Fully working features with cross-device compatibility.
- User Experience (25%) – Design, aesthetics, and smooth user interactions.
- Code Quality (25%) – Structured, optimized, and maintainable code.
Guidelines & Rules
General Rules
- The project must be built entirely during the challenge—pre-existing code is not allowed.
- Participants can use any AI tools, frameworks, and libraries, but direct copy-pasting of pre-built templates or solutions is prohibited.
- Teams must stop coding once the timer ends.
- A GitHub repository must be created during the event and submitted for evaluation.
- Plagiarism, copying from GitHub or other sources, or unethical practices will result in immediate disqualification.
- All decisions by the judges and organizers are final.
Participation Guidelines
- The competition will be conducted in-person.
- Each team must bring their own laptops with necessary tools installed.
- Teams must check in 45 minutes before the event starts.
- Inter-college participation is allowed.
- Participants must follow all instructions given before the challenge.
Submission Guidelines
- The final project must be deployed on platforms like Vercel, Netlify, or GitHub Pages.
- A GitHub repository link with complete source code must be submitted.
- Teams will present their project and explain their approach to the judges.
- Extra points will be awarded for implementing complex functionalities, such as:
- AI Agents (e.g., LLM-powered chatbots, automation scripts).
- 3D Animations & WebGL (e.g., Three.js, interactive 3D elements).
- Advanced API Integrations (e.g., AI-generated images, real-time data processing).
- Custom AI-based Features (e.g., AI-generated content, recommendation systems).
- Judges will evaluate how well participants utilize AI beyond basic automation.
Disqualification & Penalties
- Copying code from GitHub, open-source projects, or any external sources will result in immediate disqualification.
- Teams missing the deadline will be disqualified.
- Unethical practices, pre-built projects, or cheating will lead to removal.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify rules if necessary.
