All that you need to know about Capture the Flag
Event Overview:
- Teams: One or two participants per team. (No external collaboration is allowed.)
- 24 hours
- Challenges: Beginner to intermediate difficulty, covering basic cybersecurity and robotics concepts.
- Goal: Solve challenges, capture flags strings.
Guidelines Rules:
- Challenge Access
- Challenges are released simultaneously at the start and hosted on the event platform CTFd.
- The event lasts for a fixed duration 24 Hours. No submissions will be accepted after the time limit.
- Flag Submission
- Each challenge has a unique flag. Submit flags on the platform for scoring.
- Incorrect submissions may incur a minor penalty.
- Scoring System

- Tie-breaker: First team to solve a challenge wins.
Format:
- The event uses a Jeopardy-style format with 4-5 categories, each focusing on different skills. Teams solve challenges to earn points. The team with the most points wins.
- Example Categories:
- Cryptography: Decoding encrypted messages or signals.
- Forensics: Analyzing logs, memory dumps, or traffic captures to find hidden flags.
- Reverse Engineering: Examining binaries, scripts, or firmware for vulnerabilities or hidden info.
- Web Security: Exploiting website flags.
- Programming: Writing scripts or solving logical puzzles.
Rules:
- Team members must give their real names, usernames going to be used for competition, personal email ID, and phone numbers in the registration form to verify their identities and to collect prizes.
- Participants/Teams are not allowed to carry out any attacks on the CTF infrastructure or on other teams/individuals.
- No DoS/DDoS/BruteForcing/Automated Scans or any other practice generating any large amount of traffic by any other means on any challenges and the contest infrastructure. It is not permitted and is never intended in any challenge.
- Any kind of malpractices against any challenge or against the platform will result in the disqualification of the team.
- Sharing the flags/solutions/write-ups with anyone outside of your team when the competition is live is strictly prohibited.
- CTF organizers have every right to amend the existing rules or introduce new rules at any time before/during/after the contest. Any such rules must be followed by all the members of each team.
- If you find any flaws in the CTF infrastructure, you have to report that to the organizing team immediately instead of exploiting it or sharing/disclosing it with others through any public platforms or by other means.
- By participating in this contest, you agree that you have read the above rules and fully agree to adhere to them.
- We may add/remove/modify the challenges during the contest.
- The decision of the organizing team will be final.
- If anyone is found to break the above-mentioned rules, the whole team will be disqualified and removed from the event.
Judging Criteria:
- At the end of the CTF, on the scoreboard, the teams with the highest score are identified and are entitled to a prize.
- In the event of a tie, the first team (in a shorter time) to reach the score is given more priority.
- Challenges are categorized, each with varying difficulty and points.
- Teams solve challenges from any category, collecting points for correct solutions.
- The team with the most points at the end wins.
