Capture the Flag

Event Overview:

• The 2025 RVU CTF is a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition designed to test problem-solving, logical thinking, and cybersecurity skills
• Suitable for both beginners and experienced CTF players
• Focuses on challenges, teamwork, and high-energy competition

Event Format:

• Single Round Jeopardy CTF (On-Campus)
• Teams solve challenges, capture flags, and earn points on a live scoreboard
• Domains include:
  • Web Exploitation
  • Cryptography
  • Forensics
  • Reverse Engineering
  • OSINT

Prizes:

• 1st place: ₹6,000
• 2nd place: ₹4,000
• 3rd place: ₹2,000
• Certificates of Participation for all valid participants

Rules & Policies:

1. Team Formation & Eligibility:

• Each team can have 1 to 4 members
• Maximum number of participants: 150 (first-come, first-served basis)

2. Event Conduct:

• Uphold fair play, teamwork, and respect toward organizers, volunteers, and fellow teams
• Malpractice results in immediate disqualification, including:
  • Attacking event infrastructure (servers, networks, etc.)
  • Sharing flags with other teams
  • Using unauthorized scripts, bots, or brute-force tools
  • Tampering with physical clues or disrupting other teams

3. Scoring & Tie-Breaker:

• Teams earn points based on challenges solved
• In case of a tie, the team completing challenges in the shortest total time wins

4. Time Management:

• Event adheres strictly to the published schedule
• No extra time will be provided for any circumstances, including technical issues

5. Use of Resources:

• Participants may use laptops, mobile devices, and online resources (Google, documentation, AI tools, etc.) unless restricted in a challenge
• Communication or collaboration between teams is not allowed

6. Disputes & Decisions:

• Disputes or concerns must be raised with the event organizing committee
• Organizers’ decision is final and binding

7. Eligibility:

• Open to all college students
• No prior cybersecurity experience required; challenges range from beginner-friendly to advanced
